Re: Round 22: Mafia Girl Quest!
Roles of the survivors/spp and details of other roles:
- Spoiler:
- Hidden details on Cassandra (Link):
-You get more powerful as you consume your victims. Every victim you absorb allows you to target stronger monsters. Trying to attack a target before you are able to defeat it will result in a failed assassination attempt, with the exception of Angélica (Spp) and Salamander-wielding Seihime (Axel, in case he randomly gets salamander for the night of the attack). Basically, every absorption allows you to attack victims of the next "tier":
Tier 1: The three human citizens, Amira, Succubus' Fanboy;
Tier 2: Siren, Succubus, Chimera Alpha, Mermaid, Spider Girl;
Tier 3: Lamia, Chimera Beta, Kitsune (blocked by Undine, killed by Salamander);
-The night you devour your second victim you shall be visited and blessed by Black Alice, allowing you to overcome the Ilias Blessing that makes the angel immune to your attacks. After that you will be able to kill the angel if you target her directly, or if you target the same player as she does. Notice that if the angel targets you, you will still be killed. If you target each other on the same night, the victor is decided by a coin flip.
-You will always be unable to act the following night to your first successful kill.
-You are unable to act for a night if you absorb Chimera Beta (Nyu).
- Spoiler:
- Spp, you are Angélica (Mafia Leader).
Since you are the smartest of all angels, lady Promestein sent you, decades ago, to this small village where nothing relevant to Ilias ever happens and told you to shut up and infiltrate it with your servants until she gave any new orders...but you got bored
and decided to this without ever getting any plans from her. She will be so proud when you finish this, you can smell a prrrromotion!
As an angel you have Ilias' blessing, being immune to any physical attacks as long as you can react to them: if you are not carrying out the kill during a night you are targeted, you cannot be night killed by common means.
Your lackeys are Chimera Alpha (Cloak) and Chimera Beta (Nyu), and as their leader you have the final word on who is getting killed.
You win when the townie victory is deemed impossible.
What Spp didn't know: In case you are attacked by Cassandra before she has the Blessing of Black Alice, you act as a bulletproof/paranoid gun owner role, taking her down and surviving.
- Spoiler:
Details on Senhime (Axel) spirit effects:
-Gnome: block attacks from Chimera Alpha and Beta
-Undine: completely bulletproof, able to block even attacks from the angel.
-Salamander (passive): kills Chimera Alpha and the angel, blocks Chimera Beta, kills Cassandra (in case Cassandra has already absorbed 2 victims, reaching "tier 3", there is a 25% chance of dying with her).
-Sylph: your tails also get ahoges.
- Spoiler:
- Zyquux, you are Citizen #257 (Regular Townie).
A Hero that noticed the whole Ilias religion was filled with bullshit, you ended up finding and joining Concordia, where you can live peace with monsters and humans.
As a warrior with years of experience in fighting monsters, you are certainly badass for a human. Unfortunately that doesn't mean much when almost any monster in the village can still kick your ass, so you don't have any powers.
You win when all enemies are eliminated.
- Spoiler:
Zink, you are Citizen #65537 (Regular Townie).
- Spoiler:
- Leo, you are the Succubus Teacher (Jailkeeper).
Some would say that a succubus with glasses in a teacher outfit is overkill. You are sure of it. As the only teacher in this village, you are responsible to educate the monsters and humans that live in it, and to provide private lessons to those who need it. Your private lessons tend to end up in "private lessons".
Every night you can target one player to protect, but as they will be busy "studying" they can't take any actions that night.
You win when all enemies are eliminated.
What Leo didn't know: you cannot protect Haru.
- Spoiler:
- Nanon, you are Spider Girl (Macho Townie).
The most unpopular resident of Concordia, not only because Spider Girls are commonly cruel monsters, but because of how many times you messed with people using your web. You've stopped with those stupid pranks after you almost got kicked out, but people still don't like you and wouldn't want to help you.
You cannot be protected at night, unless it happens as the consequence of a bus drive.
You win when all enemies are eliminated.
- Spoiler:
- Stalin, you are the Lamia (Cop variant).
As a Lamia your sense of smell is excellent, and you know very well the smell of blood of any kind. You can smell blood days after it is spilled and in traces so small that no one would be able to see, as long as you concentrate.
You may choose a target every day; if your target was responsible for any kills you will get the name of all it's victims, although not his role. Notice that you can target a mafia member and yet get no results, as long as your target didn't carry out any kills.
You win when all enemies are eliminated.
What Stalin didn't know: you will detect the Mermaid's (DA's) blood on anyone who was successfuly saved by her. Additionaly, as Cassandra absorbs her victims, you won't be able to detect any blood on her. You will also be unable to detect Cassandra's blood on her killer, as she is a slime.

spplmj wrote:So wait when Vat watched Leo the first time did he essentially get a copy of Haru's role? meaning that he found out that both Leo and Haru were both innocent?
No, he simply found out about Haru's alignment, and was forbidden of revealing his own role or that he knew of Haru's innocence through PMs.
Haru was the only difference between Vat's role and the default Watcher, as Vat could actually find out Haru's alignment, even if that roleblocked his Watcher powers.
Prizes soon.

Re: Round 22: Mafia Girl Quest!
PRIZES:
Random Choice of Chaos: Scept. His completely random choice of switching Spp and Pheonix resulted in Link, originally going for one of the targets he could actually eat on the first night, attacking the only target that would get him killed, eliminating one of the most important roles in this round.
Alice's "...idiot." Medal: I think we all know the winner. Pheonix, unsatisfied with screwing the town only a thousand times, decided it was a good idea to force ties for no good reason, even though the past rounds proved that this behavior commonly helps third-party roles or the mafia, and doing it right after the round he did the same...as mafia.
He also gets a F in probability for thinking that he had less chances of being mafia in this round simply because he was in the last one.
Finally, the best part: he had voted for Cloak (Chimera Alpha) to save himself. As the rest of the mafia had already voted and Cloak had more votes, a vote switch to save Cloak could be seen as suspicious...but then Pheonix happened. By switching his vote he reduced the chance of Cloak getting lynched to 1/3, but his silly behavior convinced the town to jump on him, assuring a mafioso would be safe and wasting a lynch.
-Honorable mention goes to the mafia. They've used Nyu (for the third time in a row), to carry out the kill after she was accused of being mafia, after Leo revealed his roleblocking powers.
Most Effective Ineffective Power Usage: It goes to Stalin. He always used his powers right when the day started, without waiting for suspicious behavior, accusations or roleclaims, yet even though his investigative role was inferior to an alignment cop and much inferior to the default cop, he got positive results on 2 out of 3 mafiosos.
Gnome Prize: Zink. Didn't speak much when was around, and was completely silent for several days due to a trip that apparently lasted longer than expected.
-Honorable mention to DA, who did mention he would be kind of busy but could have wasted a few seconds to choose targets on night one and two, as the Mermaid's power was only limited when she successfuly saved a player.
Most Popular Player: Leo, by far. He was targetted 9 times in 5 days, and was Spp's current target for the sixth night, had the game not ended.
MVP: Stalin again. Got positive results on 2 out of the 3 mafiosi with an investigative role weaker than an alignment cop.
-Honorable mention to Vat, who also had a really hard investigative role (Watcher) yet would get Nyu on the first night if targetting Leo didn't result in Haru blocking him, and even so he got a semi-mason. Vat was actually able to find out that Nyu was mafia on the second night, but didn't pay attention and missed the fact that his powers were blocked when he found Haru on the first night, making Leo think he was a mafioso trying to cover Zyq.

I didn't wait untill later in the day for suspicious behavior because
A: First night, I didn't know it would activate in the day, and chose DA as a default choice
B: I had seen their suspicious behavior the previous day.
And it worked, did it not?

For the record, I tried to goad Nyu into making the kill that night. I actually realized Vat was innocent, and then began to doubt myself on Zyquux, but kept going with it so that Nyu would feel safe making the kill.
Guess it worked well enough.

Good show, good show.
As usual, Leo leads the town for victory for another round. Excellent job.

A: You insisted that Elvetie was a heavenly knight. That's mafia behavior if I've ever seen it.
B: Six tails? You thought you could get by with SIX TAILS?!

A: I got my info from the wiki. I take no responsibility for referencing what the wiki says.
B: No. I was hoping to get by with six tails AND an ahoge (...and summon spirits but that's not important). But would you let me reach that stage? Nooooo...
Okay but seriously, nice job again Leo and no hard feelings.

...Well, it's the first day... mafia is almost never lynched on the first day...
Though unlike Phoenix, you actually had a role to claim.

To also mention I didn't choose to kill the first night, it just happened without my notice.

If that event didn't exist, I would have to search for another way to give a little advantage to the weak as hell town.
The event that activates that hidden role assures the mafia will still have a night kill, unless Cassandra can already kill you (what can't happen before night 4). Salamander's vigilante kill denied it's passive, making it only useful against you if Axel was completely sure about you being mafia and no one trusted him, so the night kill interruption happening without anyone getting killed at night was an event that would hardly ever happen. It is also a one-time event, not to mention that Vat would get Nyu on the second day even if this event didn't exist.
Your passive and Nyu's "tier" basically made Cassandra an early game helper, the town was simply lucky that Scept caused her death, but the mafia was also lucky enough to get rid of Axel on the first day.
I think this was still the least powerful town we had in the new forums, and if one side was underpowered it were them, not the mafia. They had no reliable investigation roles, and both could lead to suspicion on innocent players, three vanilla townies and one role worse than that. People suspected you and Cloak even before they had used any powers that could unmask you.
It were your choices and behavior and the experience of the townie players that made you lose.

DAMN YOU SCEPT, DAMN YOU TO HELL!
In all seriousness, well played guys. Glad my death served a purpose. I just wish I could've survived more than one night. Second time I've died night 1 in as many rounds and I mean that in 2 ways.

In the end the town worked surprisingly well and had an easy victory, so no need to be. I was just surprised because I thought you'd be out for a single day.

Yay, I won by doing nothing! ^___^
But yeah, I should have been more specific I guess. I was travelling for around 32 hours, and then when I finally arrived home I was so destroyed that mafia was hardly on my mind...

Scept wrote:...So it appears I almost screwed the townies over. Well.
Not really, your first switch killed the Serial Killer that gave the mafia a huge advantage, so you might have randomly saved the town.
Looking back now things were a bit too easy for the mafia with all the Serial Killer limitations, I considered the possibility of Axel's role being taken out at the start, but I kind of ignored the chance that no one would trust weak investigative roles.

If you're talking about Stalin, I still didn't entirely trust him at the end (and was taking precautions to make sure the town wasn't entirely screwed if he was lying), but was willing to listen to him because I already suspected he was an investigator before I contacted him.

I was talking about how Stalin could end up revealing his role as soon as he found something, end up killed and leave 2 mafiosi, leaving only a Watcher behind. Watcher role requires the player to guess the victim, so it's pretty hard to get mafiosi, although thanks to your popularity Vat was able to do so.
