Re: Conventional Topics
Am I the only one that can't see the pictures when I click on them? Which is odd cause I see the thumbnails just fine.
Also mfw the Youmu bodypillow case
I would never buy one myself and would normally be enraged but because it's a kind gesture I'm actually really happy.
EDIT: I can see all the other images on the site just fine, just not yours.
Reconsider changing something?
It might be the reason why your photos took so long to download on Skype.

I'm honestly not sure where I'll be in may. If I'm still in the general area I'll try for it.

Re: Conventional Topics
Tempted to go to Otakuthon next august. So far away main question is who I should try to cosplay, or if I should.
Currently, my choices are:
Touhou Tenshi
Issei
Someone form Vesperia (undecided as of yet)
Alpar and Rofl may be the only ones who know what I look like, but what do you all think I should go as?

Also I'd personally recommend not cosplaying as either for your first time, for body type reasons and design complexity reasons.
I think every cosplayer will tell you to go with something MUCH more simple for your first time. I don't have any ideas in particular right now though.

Other than the gauntlet and the wings Issei is simple enough. Yuri is little bit harder but if you don't mind exposing your chest the whole time go for it.

Re: Conventional Topics
To be honest, I wouldn't be doing the wings as Issei. The gauntlet is almost a requirement to stand out as him though. Otherwise it would probably come off as casual wear and not cosplay.

Well, I guess I'll be going to this
http://www.visioncon.net/
I'm not the most excited for it (the location is extremely tiny), and it doesn't even seem to be an anime convention.
But it's literally walking distance from where I live so why the fuck not.

GOING NORTH:
A Halolzian Adventure
As some of you may be aware, this May 22nd-24th was Anime North 2015 in Toronto Canada.
Alpar (New York) and I (Arkansas) had the bright idea to go to Toronto and visit Rastel (also known as "The Mysterious Gourmet") and Gamage, who both live in the "Greater Toronto Area", while attending AN2015 as well.
This post will be my chronicle of the events that transpired, as well as a dump of Cosplay pictures and shit.
Next part: Anime North begins!

- Day -1:
- Well, planning for the Con started in about February (I think), which was the point where we all decided we were going to go and I bought tickets for Alpar and myself.
It wasn't until April that we actually got the specifics of where we were going to stay planned out, and wasn't until a week before the con that we settled on methods of transportation.
Procrastination is painful, but at least it all worked out in the end.
- Day 0:
Technically this is 2.5 days... Starting with Tuesday, right after getting off work I went to Fayettville, where the airport is... I have relatives who live there and offered to give me a place to leave my car for the weekend, as well as a place to sleep since it's a 2-hour drive from my home to there and my flight was leaving at 8 in the morning and everyone was telling me "arrive at the airport 2 hours before your departure time."
So at 5 in the morning I woke up, got showered, and began trying to get the people who were supposed to fly me to the airport up. Get there at 6am and... I already had my boarding passes so by 6:10 I was at my gate and waiting for the plane
And there it is. It seems I'm early...
... very early ...
... Well Fuck.
In my boredom, I managed to at least managed to do something productive
Organized!
Oh boy, now I'm ON the plane!
Wait... oh fuck
Oh fuck fuckfuckfuck
BY RUSS, MAN WAS NOT MEANT TO FLY!!!
"We are going into the valley of cloud"
"Minuses are not allowed to smoke on this flight"
I swear it was solid cloud cover all the way from XNA to New York. Then again I was asleep half the flight.
Holy fuck that's a big city
And a graveyard big enough for a whole video-game level
A shame the people on the left side of the aircraft can't see this. New York confirmed racist against lefties.
But I'm on the ground. (more or less) My first time flying and no problems at all!
And then the jet-bridge mentioned it was a union worker on break. So close.
I wonder where I am. Leguardia? Might that be near New York? I'm sorry but I was on the left side of the aircraft.
Also, my gate got changed. I was SUPPOSED to have my flight arrive at gate C4, but it got changed to C3. Talk about a major inconvenience, will not fly again, rating the airline a 10/10.
I didn't know Rastel had a job in New York
My first and only view of the New York skyline
Waiting in line for takeoff.
I wonder if they teach airplane related stuff at this school right next to the airport.
Wait Fuckfuckfuck
IT KEEPS HAPPENING
"What a trimble valley of the wind"
Suddenly, the clouds stop!
Just as suddenly, water begins!
On the other side of the water, a city!
Don't think this city is part of the states
So, I arrived in KANAHDAH
First order of business was to find Alpar... who arrived at Terminal 1 while I arrived at Terminal 3...
Second order of business, get on the first bus! ... which didn't accept any form of money we actually had on us, but they gave us a ride...
Third, Get off at our-hey wait you passed our stop
Fourth, get back to our stop
Fifth get on the next bus, 101 towards Westbound! Wait, this is 11 towards Westwood...
Blue is the intended route. Green is the intended destination. Red is where we ended up.
Fortunately, we had found a cab there and managed to make it to Rastel's!
The guy has a pool!
Rastel grilled burgers for us (wasn't that hard, he had frozen pre-made patties), played some Smash with his IRL friends (and ruined his games with memes that can never be removed) before going to bed.
The next day was per-regestration, just going in to get our tickets early. That wasn't until 5:00pm so we spent the morning watching Dredd, playing Smash, and then ate at Subway.
Also, Alpar got lost on his morning jog.
Lost... in what is basically a circle
Still didn't learn what Canadians call their alternative to "American Cheese".
Gamage appeared later that day, and our party was complete. Together we went to the per-regestration. Only took one picture there
The line was fucking long though... we spent at least two hours in it. This prompted Gamage to change his streetpass greeting to a phrase that would remain relevant for the entire rest of the convention... and it so happens to be the title of the next section!
After we got back, we had Rastel watch The Iron Giant, and that was the end of the day.
Next part: Anime North begins!

- Day 1: ANIME LINE LONG:
First day at Anime North 2015!
... starts 9 hours after the hour when we all woke up. With some time to kill, we played more Smash Bros and watched some Netflix. When we got hungry, the four of us went to a near by all-you-can-eat Japanese restaurant
How it worked: They give you a set of menu cards. Write down how many servings of each item you want on the card, give it to the waiter, and they bring the food. Repeat as needed until full.
Of course... Alpar... was very hungry
Rastel and I ordered 2pcs of Eel and White Tuna sushi respectively. Alpar ate one of each before we even had a chance to get to them.
Then he asked Gamage if he could have "a bite" of his salad (which Gamage hadn't touched). Gamage agreed, and the bowl was returned half-empty. Later, Alpar finished off the rest of it.
When we made our second order of food, Gamage ordered another salad. Alpar at it for him as well. He then asked for a bite of my Katsu Don the moment it arrived at the table, though I only obliged a tiny sliver of it to him.
All this was on top of what he ordered for himself. Yes Alpar, you are allowed to ask people if you can finish the food they aren't eating... but wait for them to eat their fill first!
Anyways, with that out of the way
TO ANIME NORTH
Signs that we were getting close began to appear
This must be the place!
DANTE!
LOVE LIVE!
PUNCH OUT!
~Sexy~

My OTP
It was extremely windy that day. I made it work in my favor
This QT was our buddy while we waited in line.
And what a line it was
Going to Anime School! Anime North apparently commandeered some school-buses for use at the convention (since it spanned multiple hotels). Not idea how though.
The line continues
jesus christ how horrifying
JESUS CHRIST HOW HORRIFYING
ALPAR PLS
I can see your powerlevel from here
More XIV cosplay
AND WE MADE IT HALF WAY THROUGH THE LINE
Furry la Kill
So we made it into the con itself and went straight to the dealer's room. The plan was to stick together and all go to the Asami Shimoda Q&A panel later.
I promptly got lost in the dealer's room.
In-uh-ya-sha cosplay!
Lancer!
Stuff Leo wants!
Stuff Alpar wants!
Stuff I want!
I would later buy one for Rastel...
Cosplay Wrasslin
Cosplay dump
Not shown: Some one cosplayed as Bane. When I asked for a picture, his reply was "Of course!" with a voice that was spot on, so I took a video with my phone instead. Unfortunately, the phone doesn't seem to like uploading videos to a PC so I can't get the audio with it. Will try to post later, though.
Next year I'm getting a room at the hotel.
Unfortunately, due to having all this fun, I missed the Q&A panel. Highlights, according to Alpar, were:
>She answered Al's question "Who is your favorite IdolM@ster idol besides the Futami Twins?". Her answer was Miki.
>She answered someone else's question "what is your favorite anime". Her answer was Fist of the North Star... and she tried to explain it to the asker who hadn't heard of it. aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaatatatatatatatatata!
After that, we took a walk over to the Sheraton hotel, where all the vidjya-related stuff had been quarantined to.
Rastel hurt himself playing DDR against Alpar, I saw a Beatmania song that looked like an RPG fight against a fallen angel, and other than that we just meandered around
They actually had a group of people sitting there all weekend to allow a "Gym Leader Challange". Winners actually got Gym Badges, as pictured above. None of us brought any Pokemon.
LAN parties look dangerous.
On out way out, I dropped $5 for three raffle tickets at a "Gaymers" booth. If they drew one I'd win a prize or something. I forgot about it and we moved on.
When we got back to the Main building, they apparently had some sort of late-night dealer's room open. Aside from one thing I bought the only real interesting parts were seeing an Amy Rose plushie (no picture, and we didn't buy)... and...
"What r u doin here eska?"
"Sellin anime stuff"
"But y?"
"Our anime needs budget, loji"
After that we arrived at the International Plaza hotel and called our ride home.
Took a few more cosplay pics while waiting, but that ultimately wraps up the events of the day. We went home and went to sleep, preparing for a long day tomorrow.
And what a day it would be.

- Day 2: Asapon 2015:
Second Day!
Everyone got up early and we headed to the con as soon as possible. Unlike yesterday we agreed to split up, and simply meet together at the Asami Shimoda (Voice of Ami/Mami Futami and Rin/Len Kagamine) autograph signing, followed by going to her Q&A panel later.
So to start the day off, MORE PICTURES
No wonder the lines are so long. Noone wants to be first.
NUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUDIST BEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEACH
Ashbringer and Frostmourne for sale
[Literally what happened:]
Me: "Are you Emiya Shirou?"
"Uhhhh... I... don't know..."
>His friend steps in
"Yes you are. Yes, yes he is"
Me: "Well... I guess that was in-character"
Their Jungler must be off feeding.
No 3D parking allowed.
At this point, it was 12:00. Asami's autograph session would be at 3:00. I figured it was about time I got in line for that. Not alot of pictures, because I obviously wasn't moving.
The guy right behind me in line had this. A collector's edition of Idolm@ster(1) for the Xbox360. Included was the Game, figurines of all the 765Pro Idols (Except Takane and Hibiki who weren't around yet), and a literal stage to display them on. Fucking impressive... fucking expensive...
I somehow mistook Ho-Oh for Hawlucha... I am PokeM@ster
Someone else in line, two spaces behind me. He had these amazing business cards he was handing out. Like seriously this thing is awesome, and not made of crap either.
I also got a street pass from this little girl.
Alpar got in the Autograph line at about 2:00, and Asami showed up a bit earlier than scheduled. She ran by and gave everyone a high-five, before starting to give signatures out. Everyone was allowed one item to be signed and allowed to take one picture with her, under the stipulation that both the camera had to be ready in advance and that the picture could not be uploaded to the internet due to copyright reasons or something...
So here is a picture of someone who is totally not me, with some someone who is totally not Asami Shimoda, holding what is totally not an autographed copy of IdolM@ster OFA.
I am sorry pls don't sue
On a note completely unrelated to the above picture pls don't sue, I got in the line 3 hours early, and I was the second to last person in the line they allowed to get an autograph that day. Alpar never had a chance.
The homestuck cosplay quarantine
Suddenly!
Dood!
Hey look, it's a cosplay of ur waifu!
More seriously, the fact that the trash cans were so unprepared for this many people kinda worries me.
Good Bye, Jojo!
A Maid Cafe!
After this we all went into the Q&A panel. Surprisingly, she seemed to speak quite a bit of English. Highlights include:
>Some guy told her a "Canadian Joke": "How do you get 50 Canadians out of a pool? Tell them 'Please get out of the pool'"
>She answered my question: "What is your favorite Western movie?" Her answer was "Liam Neeson" (she was talking about "Taken"). This was followed my a quick discussion of the diffrences between Japanese and American movie titles. Frozen>Anna and the Snow Queen, Big Hero 6>Baymax... followed by her quoting the Terminator "I'll be back!"
>Someone asked her about the Morning Comunication in OFA where you have to identify the Idols by their voice alone, with Ami/Mami occasionally impersonating other Idols. She said she can tell when it's her doing the impersonation, but when people tell her they can identify between Ami or Mami by just their voice her response is "How?"
>She also was asked what her favorite Im@s songs were. She decided to pick one for each idol she voiced. I forget the choices, but some of the fans corrected her because her first choice was apparently Mami's song, and she was choosing it for Ami.
>Someone else asked how she got the nickname "Asapon". Apparently she appeared on a radio show where the host had such a nickname, and they just gave her as well with no explanation. That was followed by her bringing up her experience at Starbucks, where they spelled her name "Afami".
>Lastly, when they went to take a panorama shot of the crowd, some guy had brought a tall-ass KanColle flag with him, which towered over the rest of everyone in the crowd. Her reaction when she saw it was priceless.
I'm probably missing something that happened, but most of the questions were about her work as a voice-actress/Idol.
After the panel, we lost track of Gamage and the three of us went to eat at a nearby Japanese restraunt.
The place was Girugamesh as fuck: Japanese food, Japanese-style interior furnishings, filled to the brim with cosplayers, playing anime music on their speakers (literally, we identified GaoGaiGar and K-On on their song-list), and they even had a Rikka Takanashi figurine sitting on the shelf above the cash-register. It felt like home.
After that we split up again, to go our separate ways and meet up at the Historical Anime panel (as in, anime set in historical settings). At that point I checked my phone...
... and saw that I actually won that Gaymer's raffle I entered the previous day. And that I had only an hour left to claim my prize. TO THE SHERATON!
Okay, take a picture of these two NOW TO THE SHERATON!
Rushed there (no time for the bus, walked the whole way), made it in time, and claimed my prize! My options werea 3DS, a Gold Mario Amiibo[Reserved for winners of the drawing on the following day], My choice of any two plushies of the X/Y starters, a Magic the Gathering box set... or a Megaman Amiibo. I went with the last one... and then later ended up gifting it to Gamage.
Now, back to the International Plaza for Historical Anime!
FNaF, Unionized Worker edition.
Made it to the Panel room, met up with the rest of the party, and then took this picture
After the panel, we decided to retire to sleep once more. Alpar was adamant about going as soon as possible, so he could get up early... "I'll get her autograph this time!"
A couple more pictures while waiting on the cab
And that brings an end to day 2. Stay tuned for the third and final day of Anime North 2015!

UPDATE:
The Bane cosplayer from Day 1. With sound that plays on youtube but not my computer, surprisingly.
Yes it's shit, but it's there.
And that's it for Anime North! Stay tuned though, for the day after the con, my trip home, and all the IdolTrash I brought back with me!
The Bane cosplayer from Day 1. With sound that plays on youtube but not my computer, surprisingly.
Yes it's shit, but it's there.
- Day 3: Well that was fun!:
RISE AND SHINE, BRIGHT AND EARLY, ALPAR WANTS TO BE IN LINE AT 8:00 FOR ASAMI SHIMODA'S LAST AUTOGRAPH SESSION!!
However, my alarm failed to go off and everyone else wanted to sleep in anyway.
I've never seen a cat stay in one place for so long that wasn't asleep.
When everyone DID end up getting around, Rastel's mom drove us to the convention. She threatened that if Alpar kept talking shit about bagged milk that he'd be sent home with some. Shitposting must run in the Rastel family blood.
When we got out of the car (9:00am) Alpar literally sprinted off to get in line. The rest of us were in far less a hurry and so I managed to take a couple more pictures.
Day 3, wearing the outfit finally turned him into a girl.
"The Greatest Anime Hero of all... Scorpion!"
Also Sub Zero
A bunch of businessmen in a ballpit
You can't tell me that's not what's going on there I'm not listening.
Well turns out that the doors to the convention weren't even opening until 10:00am anyway. INTO THE LINE AGAIN
The Ami cosplayer would later be in line for autographs, right next to Alpar.
Finally made it inside the convention
Well I got nothing better to do, let's go to the Dealer's Room. Just to browse because at this point I was out of money.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mc2k6xX_lRo
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tY3x_4_aYgM
A 1/4TH SCALE GANONDORF
WHOWHY WOULD WANT SOMETHING SO HUEG
Strawberry Ritz? Why does Japan have so many tasty snacks?
Tim Horton's, the true Canadian Gundam
Also, while at the NSFW booth, I heard a very convincing sales argument.
"You want to buy this dakimakura of your waifu?"
"I'm not sure..."
"If you don't then someone else will... I mean if you're into NTR that's okay, but..."
This was followed by me seeing that they had a brand new, unopened, physical copy of the Fate/Stay Night visual novel. $200CAD.
Well that's enough vendors time to see what Alpar's up to
W-well what do you know... some snacks... "followed" me out of the dealer's room. I totally didn't buy them obviously having no money left and all...
I honesty these were kinda bland in appearance (just uncoated wafer sticks with something sandwiched between them), though much tastier than I would have expected. Would eat again.
Well with Alpar waiting for the autograph I just wandered around taking pictures
>She was running a print-vending booth, went up to her and said
"How much for a picture... of you"
I feel silly and got no reaction out of her besides the pose.
Well, Autographs were over! Alpar didn't even get close, again. I'm not even sure he even had anything for her to sign in the first place.
With that over I headed off to where Cafe Nocturne, the butler cafe, was supposed to be (because I bought tickets for it). I was at least an hour early but at this point I was also physically exhausted from the whole con and just wanted to sit and wait.
Saw them inside the TCC building. They were walking together... while holding hands.
I'm really feeling something great about this cosplay
There were at least one or two dozen Robins at the con, but sadly I only saw two FemRobins.
Before I asked for their picture they had gotten an Icecream Sundae and were eating it together... by feeding each other bites off their spoons.
Sadly, no Kazooie cosplay buddy.
So then I waited, and eventually Alpar and Rastel showed up and we all went to Cafe Nocturne together.
-They started off by giving us a choice of pastry. I picked one of the danishes, and feeling humorous chose to eat it in an over-civilized manner, with fork and knife. I don't think anyone noticed.
-One of the other tables got loud, and so the Butleress (since all the butlers here were women) was like "Okay, everyone laugh as loud as you can". Alpar was pretty much the only one to do so, and after he stopped she replied "I said lough loud, not laugh AT them"
-Their Earl Grey tea was delicious, but as it was starting to run low I asked for a Water to drink as well. Shortly after they placed the glass on the table, Alpar asked if he could drink it. Alpar was begging for another person's water. Instead of asking for a refill. For Water.
-The only other thing they served us to eat was a choice of fruit. I asked for Strawberries and Grapes. Mind I haven't tried strawberries in forever and had never eaten grapes before. I tried the Strawberry and didn't care for it (Alpar would later eat them), and found I could enjoy the taste of the grapes if not for the texture of their skin. So I used my fork and knife to cut them into smaller pieces before eating (unlike the pastry, I was not attempting to be "over-civilized" here). Alpar noticed and started to make a big deal out of it, first because I was eating grapes with a fork and knife, and then because "I was holding the Fork in the wrong hand like a barbarian". For the record, I cut with knife in the left hand and hold the fork in my right hand for everything else. I see nothing wrong with it, it makes perfect sense.
After that was done... I... forget exactly what we were doing. But I took some more pictures
And then it was off to the final Asami Shimoda panel!
Rejoice, Anime North!
Im@s cosplay in the line for Im@s voice actor
In the final Q&A Panel:
>The microphones were making some weird noises. Noone brought it up, but it led to some cute moments, like where Asami started tapping on her mic while her translator addressed the crowd.
>Someone asked her what her favorite part of the convention was. Her answer was the cosplay. Not only did she enjoy seeing Rin/Len buddy-cosplays, but she also loved seeing all of them mingling together. Apparently at Japanese cons, cosplayers usually group and stay together based on what show they are from. Here everyone just wandered around, and Shimoda said it felt to her like multiple worlds were merging together and meeting eachother.
>Someone asked if she ever does karaoke of songs that are sung by herself. She admits to often doing Rin/Len songs, preferring to sing as Len... or sometimes doing a solo-duet by switching between their two voices.
>Someone asked about Infinate Stratos, and she said she doesn't like anime where the hero is trying to basically marry ALL the girls. "Pick one! Only one! Only me!"
>We learned that she apparently studied English in high school and was rather good at it, having forgotten most of it through general disuse. We also learned her worst subjects in school were math and science.
>The guy with the Canadian Joke came back, with a different joke! His joke this time was:
"How do you get a Canadian to apologize? You step on his foot!"
When he said this the entire room exploded into laughter... except for a bewildered Asapon because she hadn't had it translated to her yet. When the translator did do so, she cut her off and started trying to guess the punchline. A few failed attempts later she gave up, and when the punchline was told to her her response was "Eh? Eh?! *looks at audience and says in english* Why?" This was followed by us learning a quick Japanese saying... that "their backs go out as they age because they apologize (by bowing) alot", and her saying that Canada's backs must be even lower.
>And lastly, someone asked her which actress from her producing company would she recommend coming to Anime North next year. After some discussion, considering the voice actress for Hatsune Miku and some others, her final answer was "Asami Shimoda"
>During the last panorama shot of the crowd, she dragged the translator (who was taking the pictures the past two days) down to be in the shot next to her.
And I think after that, the lot of us were spent. We considered going to the closing ceremonies, but eventually decided against it and just went straight back to Rastel's
Farewell, AN2015!
When we got "home", his parents made some dinner for us: Beef and Chicken Kebabs. At this point Alpar once again brought up my style of using a fork and knife like it was some sort of sacrilegious blasphemy... before using the chopsticks Rastel brought out for him to simply stab his food with. After that we somehow got into an argument about 2-month-old babies having motor-skills and being in danger of sticking their fingers into power-outlets. Alpar thought they could, the rest of us knew it was impossible. Rastel's parents and sister even joined in the "conversations" and it felt no different from a skype-call with you all. Shitposting really must run in Rastel's veins.
After that, Gamage actually went home that evening, and the rest of us just killed some time (and I got extremely salty at Smash) until we finally went to sleep.
And that's it for Anime North! Stay tuned though, for the day after the con, my trip home, and all the IdolTrash I brought back with me!

Re: Conventional Topics
You forgot to mention during the finale for the last Q&A, people were allowed to give her gifts. I don't remember what the other two things were but one person gave her a picture book filled with her supposedly favorite things (like the movies she said she liked, with a picture of the Futami twins at the end) and expensive wine bottles.
Also Asami group pics. We're all in here but it'll be hard to spot anyone that isn't pretty much already up front. Though I did find myself in the Saturday. Can't see myself in the other two days but one is good enough as proof I was there.

- Day 4: Homeward Bound:
With the con over, I still had one day left before my plane left to take me back home. While we mostly just killed time, I also made sure I was able to fit everything into my bags (and jacket) and wasn't leaving anything behind.
Alpar started to whine that he was starving and too weak from hunger to go anywhere so one of us would have to carry him, so we went to eat lunch at the All-You-Can-Eat Japanese place we visited a few days prior. This time we used the menu cards correctly, though while Rastel and I ordered our fill Alpar ordered enough for the three of us. As it ended up turning out that apparently is too much for even the asain void... and I ended up finishing his Katsu Don (note; I waited until he offered for someone to finish it for him before I began to eat it.) On the way home he was whining that he was too full to walk and that one of us would have to carry him.
After we got back I printed off my plane tickets and checked-in for my flight, before trying to get the phone number for a cab company so I could actually get to the airport. Unfortunately, at this point I had only about $17CAD left on me and was going to have to pay my fare with USD... if the cab would accept it.
Very thankfully, Rastel's parents were able to arrange for a a cab from someone they knew (I think I got that right). Not only would he take USD, but I would also get a cheaper rate for it, and it was called in for me the day prior so I wouldn't have to place the call in the morning.
I went to bed early, got up early, and was able to get to the airport early.
Right then, first step! Airport Secur-
... I guess the first step is actually onto US soil, followed by customs and THEN security.
Surprisingly, even though I got in line for security back in Arkansas (on my way up) so early I was first in line for the day... the Canadian security check felt like it went much faster. I was also surprised I didn't have to take off my shoes.
Made it through and found my terminal, checked my clock... and I was somehow at least 2 hours early for my flight. Was not expecting it to be that quick. In the meantime I got some breakfast and grabbed some more streetpasses while at the airport. Unfortunately, my DS died and I wasn't able to get any at Leguardia (which was much more packed)
On my flight to New York, I had noone sitting next to me so I was able to take some pictures of this:
The airline had a magazine... about itself... that included a section showing all the airplanes their company had to offer.
On the left is the stats for their largest air-liner... note the icons indicating that it features WiFi, cabled-internet, and power-sockets to recharge stuff.
On the right is sardine can I was trapped in for every leg of my aerial journey.
At Leguardia, another gate change! I arrived at gate C4, and instead of going to C2 as my itinerary said... I got back on my plane at C4. New York y u no plan good, changing things constantly.
I swear this isn't actually air-travel but some sort of subspace travel. why else would there be SO MANY CLOUDS
The clouds finally broke though, and I was greeted to a bunch of farmland beneath me
Haha, look at that tiny-ass city. Hey wait a minute...
I RECOGNIZE THAT TINY-ASS CITY! I NEVER THOUGHT THAT BRANSON WAS SO FUCKING TINY!
Well, all in all air-travel wasn't that bad. I think most of my complaints were in the cramped quarters I had to sit in, but that's what you get with economy-prices. I guess I wouldn't mind doing it again if I decide to go to Anime North next ye-
WHAT? WHAT?! NO, THAT'S IT, I'M DRIVING TO TORONTO IF I EVER GO AGAIN, FUCK FLYING, I AM DONE!
- Day 5: Need or Greed:
Made it home, got stuff unpacked, sat back to relax...
And then I accidentally volunteered for a day at work... because I forgot I asked for an extra day off as part of my vacation.
But that's not what this section is about. This section is about the stuff I brought back that I didn't take with me in the first place!
First up, Streetpasses!
Before this con, I literally never used StreetPass, or the Mii Plaza at all. Considering the town I live in is smaller than Branson which I posted above... you should see why.
The following pictures were taken at Rastel's house, before I left to the airport:
I actually got a pass from someone in the Bahamas while at the airport too.
Now to the physical Loot
These two were gifts from Rastel, because he had multiples of them. They still are great though.
All of these were gifts from Alpar. I really appreciate the Love Live pins... Zant though I was not... expecting.
These two cards came from those wafer-snacks I ate on day 3.
My pass, and a couple of pins I bought. The Mami pin was actually a commission, hand-drawn at the con by the guy whose business card is in the shot. The other pic is the site of the person who was sharing the booth with the pin-commissioner.
Business... cards... from people who I'm not sure are running a business
ThesePersonacards came from the Tabletop Gaming room (the most empty room of the convention). They were trying to advertise an "easy to get into" tabletop game where you pick two sources of power (based on your life experiences) and then roll them as your class. I picked (have you ever taught someone how to do something) "Tabletop Gaming" and (have you ever collected anything) "Figurines" for my sources... basically making me 40k Alice Matrigold.
Idol Games
Autographed Idol Game. Yes this does mean I own two separate copies of One For All.
Free stickers from a booth advertising their upcoming game, which is about starting a Maid Cafe franchise and hopefully taking it global.
Why isn't a global Maid Cafe franchise already a thing in real life?
It was just a bag one of the other things came in, but I like it so I'm keeping it
And lastly
The Idols that almost ruined everything.
Because I bought them... and then realized that I didn't have enough room in my bags to take them home One was full of clothes and the other could only fit two of them at most.
So I made an... "emergency" purchase. This bag WAS in-fact big enough to fit almost everything I got at the con
Though only just... it's maiden duty did quite a number on the poor thing.
So... everything I purchased at this con was IdolTrash. Beautiful.
Not shown: The Megaman Amiibo I gave to Gamage, the Gabecube/WiiU adapter I gave to Rastel, and the Kuroneko figurine I gave to Alpar.
And that, everyone, wraps up my journey to Canada. I hope you didn't mind too much, like and subscribe if you want to see more chronicles similar to this one!
Thankyou.
