Or the forums can just switch to Gamage time. It is scientifically proven to be the best time zone ever.

Re: VoteBot 9000 Commands and Usage
This is actually my biggest feature priority atm. I have the groundwork for something, but it's not finished and I was interrupted by porting him here. It's very feasible, and my plans actually include having him post a link to a countdown timer.Zyquux wrote:Oh one thing that I thought of today. Maybe make a command for the bot to post when the day ends. Preferably shown in the users local time or just as a text set by the host.
Example:
[dayend October 20 7 PM PDT]
would show in the bot post as:
Day End: October 20 7:00 PM PDT
Or something. I don't know coding so I don't know how feasible that is.

It sounds like a nice little feature, both the countdown and the round end time
As he said [Roundend, specficidateformathere]
VB reads last post and if it has a dayend it grabs that.

Kinda think it'd help if more peeps used this little gem to get around the time zone issue.

Or just type (GMT +/-X). If you don't know your own time zone in comparison to GMT, there's a problem.
Re: VoteBot 9000 Commands and Usage
A command that we managed to forget is a way to tell Votebot that the game has ended.

That would be what the bot would generate, actually. =PFrench Connections wrote:Kinda think it'd help if more peeps used this little gem to get around the time zone issue.

Re: VoteBot 9000 Commands and Usage
Just finished implementing the HalolzBoard class. Bot no longer needs my oversight to figure out which threads it will read. All hail our bot overlord.
I've set it up to read any unlocked topic in the games board. Cheers!
Remaining items on my todo list:
Finish implementing hidden commands. I'm ~half way there atm.
Implement round ending timers so the host can tell the bot when a round ends, and the bot will post a link to a timer in each post he makes.

Re: VoteBot 9000 Commands and Usage
I have added a new command which will allow the bot to keep track of any important posts the host wants in VoteBot's main post.
The command is [story <title>], and it's completely optional. You should notice no change in the bot unless the command is used.
Examples:
[story] -> Round 1
[story Rainboy's Death] -> Rainboy's Death
