Round 54 - VGMW: Videogame Mafia Wrestling

Okay this is my first round, don't slaughter me cause I'll try my best. Depending on how this goes I may or may not ever host a round again but eh, for now I'm planning the "I'll only do this once" route.

- -Somewhere in an alternate realm of VGCW-
The Twitch chat after another season of overblown twists, unexpected deaths, and battles that defied physics, only managed to silence itself hours ensuing the events. Manager Bazza McMahon had preeminently decided that VGCW would return following a long hiatus. Cutting into time with his personal life, persistently managing Lakitu’s alcoholism during work, and above all having to find wrestlers to replace the ones that just died this season reflected on the decision’s clarity. Moreover, the wrestlers themselves knew that despite their professionalism (for those who had any), even they deserved a vacation. Asserting the unanimous option, everyone temporarily made their ways back home without question.
A few months leisurely pass by and turn into what would be several weeks before the start of the show’s next season. Bazza reopens the dome, diving back into the faint yet familiar scent of educated feet. “It’s kinda nice to be back” Bazza thought while pulling up his old chair. He then proceeds to contact all the old wrestlers that managed to keep their jobs, along with a few yet exceptional newcomers he’d found during the course of his recession.
Within a small expanse of time, a majority of the prior wrestlers would reunite under the beloved atmosphere of THQuality, with the chance to exchange introductions with some new competitors. Against the fact these fighters got the chance to take things easy, it couldn’t change the excitement they lived for in bone smashing disarray.
A fair handful had made it in time to compensate for complacency preceding the season-to-be. Some to arrive later than others, but as it was now, everyone was just training amidst the hardly occupied VGCW dome.
And the normality would have stayed that way if not for a loud crash which had echoed through the building’s vacancy.
Without a moment to waste, everybody ran straight to the source of the alarming sound to find Badman subjugated into a bloody comatose.
Soon enough, Bazza found himself surrounded by legality issues and Twitch cops, and under such arrests was unable to keep on hosting VGCW. All adversaries who were witness to the incident were deemed free (just unable to officially participate in VGCW) due to lack of suggestive evidence to hold against all of them. Those same adversaries were promptly called together for a secret group meeting back in the dome under demand of a certain attorney; none other than the famous Phoenix Wright.
Phoenix: “First off, I’d like to thank you all for coming here…”
Ganondorf: “It would appear suspicious if someone didn’t show up. I think I speak for all of us when I say it’s the obligation of our innocence.”
Groose: “Alright, so why did you call us here?”
Phoenix: “Before any other officials could see, I seized good evidence found at the site which proves one thing… I know that if there’s anything attorneys do right where I’m from, it’s hiding evidence.”
As the attorney laid out the almighty Power Glove, everyone instinctively turned head and eyes straight to none other than James Rolfe himself.
AVGN: “What?! Are you insisting that I did it?! This is some HORSESHIT right here!”

Phoenix: “Hold on now, I didn’t say Nerd here was the killer. My gut instinct as wrong as it might be, is telling me he’s innocent, which is exactly why I took this away from the sights of the cops. What I’m insinuating is that someone had to steal this thing’s power in order to take out Badman. The crime scene happened in the basement as well all know, and there’s no way anyone could get there without getting through the front door. It seems the camera picked up everything that went on from the second Bazza reopened the place, and I’ve double checked to make sure the criminal didn’t take any alternate paths such as windows either. If you don’t believe me, we can all get together to watch these things ourselves. “
He says as he gently places the recordings on Table-san.
“Unfortunately these things somehow went blank for five minutes, but only on the basement and the first floor.”
AVGN: “So what you’re saying is that we can just watch these things and lower our number of suspects, huh?”
Phoenix: “As nice as that would be, it’s not that simple. I also managed to grab something else from the scene. This was in Badman’s shirt pocket…”
The attorney pulls out a sheet of paper, unfolding it to disclose a directive that threatened not only death to the show, but death to those who oppose this ambiguous cause; namely the wrestlers that participated.
Phoenix: “I hate to say it… but the case just might be that there are people working with this unknown murderer.
Only we official wrestlers could know where James' Power Glove was or how to sabotage the security cameras
meaning those people just might be some of us.”
A transient chill temporarily kills by the ambiance, at the hand of Wright’s tone which somehow got attention without having to ask.
Groose: “So… how do you propose we find out?”
Phoenix: “It’s simple really. We turn people into the cops one by one and find out which one’s the guilty one! And we do that by casting votes to who we think isn’t innocent!”
Dante: “That sounds like one of the most inane concepts ever… let’s do it! This is absolutely crazy enough to work!”
AVGN: “No. Stop. You can’t possibly be serious. This isn’t going to-“
Phoenix: “All in favor of using my totally flawless system?”
Everyone but Nerd raised hands without sparing a moment’s notice.
Snake: “This entire setting somehow feels like it was written by an eighteen year old college student with no writing experience basing it off something that’s just about as badly written!”
Phoenix: “Alright people, let’s make this really count! Bazza is counting on us to prove his innocence in time for the big court case! Let’s find those culprits!”

AVGN: “Me too Chief, me too…”
