Round 30 - Pokémafia Mystery Dungeon

The gentlemen arrive on Villa Victoire, continuing their calm, steady pace forward. They are surprised to see many townsfolk running around in paranoia, screaming at the top of their lungs in panic.
"Everybody run for your lives!"
"I don't wanna die young!"
"How could anyone do this?"
Confused by the townsfolk's reactions, the gentlemen decide to chit chat with eachother so they can get to the bottom of this.
"Goodness gracious, Mr. Brooks. It appears that we arrived at Tao Village in such a bad moment."
"I... agree, Mr. Vega...
but first off, I don't think this is actually Tao Village in the first place."
"You raise a good point, Mr. Brooks. Let us ask the lokal townsfolk for some information on our whereabouts. May I, Mr. Brooks?"
"After you, Mr. Vega."
The two look around for a pleasant looking townsfolk to have a small conversation about where they are and what is going on. They find a small, terrified Pikachu on the corner of an alley, shivering in fetal position near the wall.
"Pardon me, good sir. We are wondering what exactly is this pla--"
"AAAAH, GET AWAY FROM ME!"
The Pikachu quickly retalliated in fear
"Mercy me! Mr. Vega, are you in prime physical condition?"
"Don't you worry, Mr. Brooks. It is quite outrageous to be unable to find a single gentleman in this village?"
"Wh-wha.. you're not one of them?"
"Them?"
A short silence occured as the Pikachu tried to connect the dots on his mind and calm down.
"THANK GOODNESS! What a relief! I thought I was going to be dead by now!"
"Sir, may I inquire once more? Who are these 'them' that you mentioned?"
"You.. aren't from around here, no? I mean, everyone here in Villa Victoire has heard of the recent Ghost-type attacks."
"Villa Victoire?"
"Ghost-type attacks?
Mr. Brooks, it all makes sense now."
"What makes you so certain, Mr. Vega?"
"This minor sidetracking of our destination has given us a great opportunity to help these villagers in their hour of need,
giving us a great opportunity to raise awareness of our great feats of wonder, and further secure our stay in Tao Village. Don't you agree, Mr. Brooks?"
"Wholeheartedly, Mr. Vega."

And so the two find the nearest soapbox to stand on and try to call the attention of the whole town. They actually succeed in doing so, managing to rally up a good chunk of the town, 20 to be exact. They proceed in explaining everything they know about the ghastly meanace and their means to stop them.
"...and with your help, we will find these Ghost-types and take them down. Any questions?"
One of the pokémon in the crowd raises his hand
"Yes, what is your question, young man?"
"Yeah, just a thought.. uh..
how are we supposed to know who's a Ghost-type if the blasted fools are disguised as regular pokémon?"
...
A giant silence fills the area as Mr. Brooks and Mr. Vega just stand in shock.

...

"...Mr. Brooks, proceed with the execution"
Quickly and swiftly, Mr. Brooks jumps at the Brelloom in the crowd and stabs it right in the chest. Everyone in the crowd is just SHOCKED at such outrageous moves!
"Well, this changes the course of plans, ladies and gentlemen! My cohort and I will personally deal with you until we find who's really a ghost in disguise, all through our rigorous method of trial and error. Any objections?"
Every other pokémon in the crowd raised their hands (or related appendages) as everyone began shouting in panic.
"Hmm... something isn't right in our methods... Mr. Brooks, do you by any chance have any other magnificent ideas?"
"I do in fact, Mr. Vega. We don't know who is really suspicious or who is just acting like they normally do. But who else to know better of their friends and relatives than the townsfolk themselves, Mr. Vega?"
"Ah.. splendid job, Mr. Brooks. Let us cease this unceasing noise and loud banter from these townsfolk as we explain to them our plan."
He then faces the crowd and shouts to gain their attention.
"ATTENTION EVERYONE! My cohort and I have decided to have a change of plans..."


One drawn out exposition later...


"...and so you will vote every day to cast off whoever you think is the most suspicious of the lot. My cohort and I will gladly take his life away for the sake of your safety. All the while your local curfew will be more than enforced, just so you're safe from the clutches of those ghastly fiends. A foolproof plan, is it not, Mr. Brooks?"
"I concur, Mr. Vega. I concur."
"..."
