A small homunculus made to assist Totori, you must defend your trilogy from the new protagonists of the Dusk trilogy.
You have no special abilities and win when all other factions have been eliminated.
Night story (part 1)

- “And then you twirl it like this... twirl twirl twirl~!” Totori spun her staff around in the cauldron, mixing some ingredients for her synthesis.
Totori was normally not one to talk much during her work, but this time she had gathered a bit of a crowd. Standing behind her watching the synthesis process was Linca, and across the room on the other side of Totori's workshop, sitting in her usual spot on Totori's chair was Mimi, nose buried in her book as always.
“Alchemy truly is amazing,” Linca said. “I've seen Ayesha do it so many times, and she always makes it look so easy. But when I watch you, I can see how much effort it takes.”
“...Eh heh...” Totori chuckled uneasily. “I'll try to take that as a compliment.”
“Oh, I can see it starting to form,” Linca said. “It looks like... a bomb?”
“Yes,” Totori smiled. “Some ore, a little bit of fuel, and a supplement to increase the power, and you've got a nasty surprise for the next monster you see!”
“But it's so small,” Linca said. “Will it work on a larger monster?”
“Hehe... that's the secret of alchemy!” Totori said, posing proudly. “Good materials will make a good item. Even though it's small, it's incredibly high-quality. It'll yield an explosion like a bomb five times its size!”
“A-alchemy can do that?!” Linca asked, shocked.
“Of course! The possibilities of alchemy are limitless! With the proper materials, you can make water that always stays pure no matter what you dump into it, pickaxes that can cut through diamond and never dull, and even medicine that can recycle itself in your body after you take it!”
Linca slammed her hands on the rim of the cauldron. “S-so do you think that alchemy could make me a cute set of clothes that can also protect against enemy attacks?!”
“E-eh? W-well, I guess it could, but if you're looking for a cute outfit, you might be better off seeing a tailor...”
Linca peered over the rim into the cauldron once more. “Perhaps I should learn how to synthesize things myself...”
Across the room, Mimi glanced upward for the first time. “...Hm? Something smells nice,” she said, sniffing the air. “Totori, are you making food?”
“Huh?” Totori placed a finger on her chin. “No, I'm making a bomb.”
“Are you sure?” Mimi asked, squinting suspiciously. “It smells like bread.”
“Hm... she's right,” Linca said. “Look, it's even turning gold, like bread in an oven.”
“Turning... gold?” Totori shakily peered over the cauldron. “...Uh-oh... that's not supposed to- ...EVERYONE, GET DOWN!”
Mimi jumped to her feet and tackled Totori, knocking her to the ground moments before Totori's failed creation exploded. However, she and Linca took the full impact of the blast.
“Uugh...” Linca groggily rose from the ground, shaking her head. “I haven't taken a hit that bad in years...”
“S-sorry...” Totori chuckled nervously. “Ah, Mimi, you got hurt again protecting me...”
“H-hurt? She's unconscious!” Linca yelled.
“Oh, no, no, she's fine,” Totori said. “This happens more often than you might think. She just needs to sleep it off.”
Linca sighed. “If you say so... maybe I should ask Ayesha to teach me alchemy...”
“Before you go, could you move her over to my bed?” Totori asked.
“Hm? Sure.” Linca hoisted Mimi over her shoulder and laid her down on Totori's bed. “Maybe I should go before something worse happens.”
“Th-that might be a good idea,” Totori said with an uneasy smile.
After Linca took her leave, Totori turned toward the sleeping Mimi. “Hm... she's still scowling even while she's unconscious... it's actually kinda cute...” The thought of crawling into the bed with her crossed Totori's mind, as well as some less pure thoughts. “...No, no, not while she's unconscious,” Totori said, punishing herself by slapping her forehead. “There will be time for that once she wakes up.”
Scept (Mimi Houllier von Schwarzlang) did it for her.

You are Mimi Houllier von Schwarzlang.
Noble daughter of the Schwarzlang family, you must defend your trilogy from the new protagonists of the Dusk trilogy by working with your totally-not-lesbian-lover Totori (name unknown).
This is an equivalent of the normal “Mason” role. You have no special abilities aside from being able to converse privately with your partner during the night.
You win when all other factions have been eliminated.
Night story (part 2)

“...I wonder...”
“...Miss Astrid?” Meruru asked. “How long are you gonna stare at me for?”
“Oh, Meruru, good timing!” Astrid said.
“Good... what the hell does that mean?!” Meruru yelled. “You barged into my workshop and stared at me for ten straight minutes! It's not like I just got here or something!”
“Nevermind that,” Astrid said, waving her hand dismissively. “Anyway, I recently came up with a new recipe that I want you to try.” Astrid pulled a scrap of paper out of her coat pocket and handed it to Meruru.
“Hm... water, cow leather, an iron ingot, a quake stone... this seems really simple,” Meruru said, casting a glare at Astrid with no attempt to hide her hostility. “Why can't you do it yourself? ...And what does it even make?”
“I'm not doing it because I can ask you to do it,” Astrid smiled. “As my pupil's pupil's pupil, you need to listen to your master's master's master. Besides, you'll see what it makes once you're finished.”
“Bah, for the last time, you're not my master!” Meruru huffed. “Let's just get this over with!” The steaming princess stormed over to her container and began rummaging through for the proper materials. “Let's see... leather... quake stone... water... huh? What happened to all my iron?”
“Hm... that is troublesome,” Astrid said. “It can't be made without the iron... oh!” Astrid snapped her fingers. “What luck! I just remembered that I brought an ingot with me! Such an amazing coincidence!” Astrid pulled a large, perfectly-crafted iron ingot from her coat and held it out toward Meruru.
“Yeah, I bet it's just as amazing as how all of my iron disappeared,” Meruru muttered, grabbing the ingot from Astrid and tossing it into the cauldron along with the other ingredients.
In what seemed like no time, Meruru completed the simple synthesis.
“It's...” Meruru reached into the cauldron and pulled out a small strap of leather with an iron ring on the end. “...A collar?”
“Yoink!” Astrid snatched the item from Meruru's hands.
“H-hey! ...Wait, why am I getting upset? That thing's useless,” Meruru sighed.
Astrid inspected the collar. “Hm... very masterfully made. I'm impressed. Excellent work.”
“What are you even gonna do with that thing anyway?” Meruru asked, crossing her arms.
“This.” Quicker than Meruru could react, Astrid unclasped the metal on the collar, wrapped it around Meruru's neck, slipped a leather rope into the metal part, and re-clasped it.
“Wh-what?!” Meruru grabbed at the collar, trying to pry it off to no avail.
“An alchemist on a leash... there's a joke here somewhere, I'm sure of it,” Astrid laughed.
“Q-quit laughing!” Meruru yelled. “Get this damn thing off of me!”
“I'm surprised that you can still yell at me like that,” Astrid said with a quizzical stare. “That ingot had an ingredient mixed in to make you a little more docile... though considering the firebrand you were before, I guess I shouldn't have expected that much of a change.”
“Y-you planned that?!” Meruru yelled, reaching for the clasp on the front of the collar. However, when she touched it, a small jolt zapped her hand. “Ow!”
“And the quake stone gives you a nice little shock when you try to take collar off,” Astrid smirked. “Now then, come along, we have a lot of work to do.” Astrid walked out of Meruru's workshop, tugging the leash behind her.
“Ow! Quit pulling so hard, that really hurts!”
“If you want it to stop hurting, hurry up and stay closer! Heel toe, little girl!” Astrid said, cackling like a madwoman.

- “Ayesha?” Linca opened the door to Ayesha's and poked her head through the opening. “No lights on... maybe she's not around?” She stepped inside and closed the door behind her. “Ayesha?” Linca called out once again. No response came, but Linca couldn't help but feel someone else was with her.
Linca cautiously stepped up the stairs and walked toward Ayesha's bed. “Hm... she's not in bed, either? But who else would be in here besides her? ...And myself.”
Linca begun to walk back down the stairs when she felt a chill run down her back. Turning around, she came face-to-face with a tall violet-haired woman in a long purple dress.
“Boo!” the woman screamed playful smile on her face.
Stifling her fear, Linca quickly drew her sword and slashed through the woman's midsection... or would have, if the sword hadn't passed harmlessly through her. “W-what?!”
“Ahahaha!” the woman laughed. “Ooooh~ I'm gonna eat you~!”
Linca took a step back, having forgotten that she was standing in front of the stairs, and promptly tumbled back down to the main floor. “Guh...!” Linca barely managed to regain her balance before her head slammed against the floor. As she looked back up the stairs, the mysterious woman had disappeared. “What on Earth...” Not wanting to encounter such a foe again, Linca took this opportunity to escape from the workshop.
“Hee hee... these new girls are so easy to scare,” the ghostly woman giggled. “I haven't had this much fun in years!”
No one died that night.

Mafia's over-reliance on Linca has confirmed that the third game in the Dusk trilogy will be Atelier Linca: Side-Character of Dusk.
