I idolm@ster is the best series I've watched. Mind you I haven't watched a lot of anime series, but the whole thing was consistent excellent quality, no throwaway characters or anyone generic. Nothing overly dramatic or ridiculous.
Here is my controversial tier list:

God tier:
Azusa, Takane, Makoto

Demi-god tier:
Haruka, Chihaya, Iori, Ritsuko, Kotori

Really great tier:
Ami, Mami, Producer, Yayoi, Yukiho, Hibiki, Miki
