Round 79: Sherlock Holmes Edition [Mafia Win]

I'm thinking that I need at least 9, preferably 12 to do this. I'd like to end signups Thursday, but will have to extend if we don't get more than the 7 we have now.

Alrighty, I'll be starting here in roughly 45 minutes. Sorry in advance for the lack of story to kick things off... college and a part time job are being mean to me.

With eight players, I'm gonna have to juggle things a bit. Given the vast amounts of information and logic available to the village via the inspectors, I am regretfully going to remove Watson. We will have one of each base type of inspector (sane, insane, naive), two confused Inspectors, Holmes, Moriarty and Blackwood in the game.

PMs going out now. Given the number of players and the likely duration of the game, I'm going to give out R0 negatives to all peekers.

This means that all Inspectors will be given the name of a random player who they would see as "not mafia" and Blackwood will be given the name of a random Inspector. This means that Confused Inspectors will be given a random player in the game, and the Insane Inspector will be given Blackwood.

(Before anyone complains, remember that Inspectors do not know their sanity, so the Insane Inspector will not know he is insane at the start of the game.)

First off, this is a game of maths. All players should post their R0 peeks and every subsequent peek every round (and I suggest that Sherlock and Mafia do the same). This will give players the information to do the mental maths, and for Sherlock to come out in R2/3 with the roles of the dead investigators. Furthermore, I find no lynch to be particularly useful this game (although it means that we need to start lynching when there are only 5 living players remaining).

Rain said that everyone got a random "not mafia" result so they should all be not mafia. At any rate, my intel suggests Zink is not mafia and for once, I'll concede that a [vote nolynch] is a vote for victory.

The point is that we know who the peek is on. It enables us (or helps rather) to determine Mafia based on the remaining investigators when Sherlock decides to come out in the open. It also allows us to spot the flaws in Mafia's peeks.

I'll also add that being afk and not submitting a peek every night will be detrimental to the town, regardless of whether or not Mafia get a kill on Sherlock. Furthermore it'd make you appear like Mafia (as it's clearly counter-productive towards towns efforts, especially given that we're not doing any lynching).
