Re: Screw dragons, a 7th Dragon run
- Update I spent far too much time on over the day.:
Initial party is up.
Hobama will appear next update.
Now let's explore Kazan.
Enlistment house.
Quest house.
Game being no fun.
That guy behind the counter has a different sprite.
He must be the one we're supposed to talk to.
: This is where the world's Hunters come for work, and the rewards thereof. We mediate between the clients and Hunters. Keep doing requests in order to build a name for yourselves as hunters. Got it?
I don't think we get it guys.
Do we get it?
(Yes)
: Glad to hear it. You also might want to poke around town for any other jobs to do. We're happy to have promising rookies like you. Stay safe and good luck!
As we're about to leave...
: The "CUSTOM" option is very important. It lets you spend your SP on various skills. As you adventure, you'll gain more SP each time you level up. Anyway, those're the basics. So get to it!
As Menas said, Y brings up the menu.
Custom reveals that we have a TON of skills, like holy crap.
Unfortunately there's no skill sims, so sorry guys.
Instead, I'm gonna put an image of all three pages in, and the skill tree, and have you guys decide on the skills. I'll inform you of when a skill is available to obtain
Also, some skills cost two skill points instead of one, and the higher level a skill is, the more SP it'll cost (To upgrade from level 7 to 8 mastery of anything, it costs 2 SP for example).- Knight:
- Princess:
- Fighter:
- Mage:
- Rogue:
And sorry Nick, you're on your own regarding Rogue skills. I'm heading into this blinder than EO3, so I dunno the best course of action with Rogues. Other than that, if you want to know what a skill does, ask me for details.
Once we leave the quest house...
We see three people in need of assistance.
To obtain quests, you have to walk around town and talk to people to unlock them, then head back to the quest house, accept the quests, THEN go back to the people in need and get the details from them.
We can hold a max of three quests at a time.
Anyways heading back to make Alpar's cha-
Who's this faget.
: Let's see... The most solid guild is probably still Kingsblade.
: Hah! Yeah, I already know they're good.
: The rest all run together.
: Hmph.
: Heh heh... well, you never know when a guild will surprise you.
: Hah. I'm looking forward to hearing about a new guild making a name for itself.
Um. Hi guy.
: Those first days together, taking on the world... Those times build bonds that can never be broken.
And then we moved out of the way so he could leave.
And then Alpar's character was made, NOW LET'S GRAB QUES-
Welp, looks like more exposition by Mr. Unknown.
: Did you get the order?
Shopkeep: Yes, of course we heard from Mr. Menas.
: Can you fulfill it?
Shopkeep: It won't be easy to find that much gear... but we'll do our best.
: I appreciate it. By the way...
Shopkeep: Yes... I know what you're looking for. Rushe swordsmiths have a fine reputation.
: Hmm... My, this is impressive. You weren't kidding.
Shopkeep: Is that all you wanted?
: Well... you were able to get a good deal on it, right?
Shopkeep: On this sword? It's as expensive as you'd expect.
: Okay, I get it. Can't blame me for trying.
Shopkeep: Thank you very much.
: Thanks. I'll see you later.
Hi again, guy.
: Someday, if you find a weapon that suits you... You'll go places, kid.
And then he left, as we all squeezed into a single square.
Now let's do the three quests.
>Yes
Novice Rita: Wha, no lie, really!? Oh my god, thank you!! I was getting super worried! Man, I'm so glad you took it! Totally! Okay, lemme explain things. I'm a rookie Hunter, but... I still wanted to form a guild. Don't look at me like that! It's more fun this way! Better to learn the trade with a bunch of friends to party with, right?? But... nobody showed up! Is no one interested? Or does nobody have confidence in me cuz I'm still learning? Hey, I bet you could do it! You could convince some people to join my guild! Well... at least... 2 people, I guess. That's enough. ...Huh? Where can you find 'em? I... don't really know! Buuut... probably not here. I mean, I looked all over town and found nothing. So I would look around just outside of town. I'll be waiting for ya!
Elderly Courier: I'm the leader of the Courier Guild. It's my job to deliver packages. But I forgot how old I'm getting these days. I just threw out my hip. I could ask my son, but the monsters are too strong. But you'd have no problem. Some courier I am! I can't even walk. It really is a shame. If you could deliver this to miross in my place, I would be most grateful.
>You've been given a "Special Delivery"!
Elderly Courier: It's for a popular knight in Miross. Please deliver it for me!
The third quest just needs us to collect 3 nuts. So without further ado...
We leave town.
We left town.
Now, as you would imagine, early game, any monster can rek us. So first thing first, some minor grinding. This will go by fast.
Battle!
One thing I really love about this game is
HOW FUCKING ADORABLE THE IN-BATTLE SPRITES LOOK
LOOK AT THIS
FUCKING
LOOK AT THIS
They also have animations for when they attack AND IT'S ALSO REALLY ADORABLE but I missed it this battle so :<
After the battle WE GET MORE ADORABLENESS (and experience, I guess. Divided by 4, as the image shows.)
Now introducing the EX gauge. When using one...
The character using it will ignore turn order in favor of going first. The attacks/heals performed by that character will also become more powerful.
The EX gauge is only recovered by staying at an inn, because it EXhausts you. It also has three uses.
Managed to grab an image of Lia mid-attack.
Now to grinding.
After some quick grinding, everyone in the current party is level 2.
That should let us reach Miross safely.
And then we reached Miross.
Time to talk to everyone in town.
What this game does, unlike a lot of other RPGs, is that a ton of stuff is unlocked by talking to random people. So let's go do just that.
This girl is a fun one.
Phon: Well then. Would you like a reading?
>Have our fortune told.
Phon: Understood. Allow me to divine your fate for today.
>Screen blinks white once.
...
>Screen blinks white again
>Screen blinks white for the last time.
Phon: I have glimpsed it. You will be unhappy. Or possibly, delighted. Your lucky item is a snowclone... ...whatever that is.
Other than that, nothing of interest, so let's go further north in this city.
Poking fun at generic names.
Ah, here's our guy... girl...... whatever.
>You handed over the "special delivery"!
Popular Knight: Ah, it's from a childhood friend in my hometown! Is she interested too?! Oh, my heart's pounding! ...Anyway, you've certainly done your job. The Courier Guild always gets things done on time. Thanks very much!
And now we can go to any quest office and claim our reward.
I think I'll end the update here. Next, we'll go do the other two quests.
Quick edit: Also, just because a skill is highlighted in orange does not mean it is obtainable at the moment. Just means the "cursor" is over it.

Cute girl samurai looks like Puchima Chihaya.
I'll put my points in Sonic Shot, Bow Mastery and Out Hunting (which I assume may be a useful passive).
I'm not going to fight over swords with all those other users.

No dice. Â Because I already know the game, Grash has shared with me a guide to all the skills. Â Since he wants to keep the game's title a secret a while longer (for some reason), I'll just say it myself:
Sonic Shot cannot be taken until you have level 5 Bow Mastery. Â (That's the whole scenario about why he added the edit about the cursor, I PMed him wanting Fang Blade)
And while this guide seems to use different names for everything, I would assume through process of elimination that "Out Hunting" is the skill that increases our encounter rate. Â Fortunately, you have to manually activate it for a small bit of MP (that decreases with how high the level is)
Anyway, you have 4 skill points to spend (if you're level 2 like the rest of us)... with that in mind, this is what you can spend those points on:
POW/SPD/INT Bonus: costs 2 points for POW, 1 for SPD/INT. Â POW increases physical damage/defence, INT is magic dmg/def, SPD is evasion/speed
(Skip the sword skills cause you don't want them)
Bow Mastery - 1sp (up to level 5)
>Seeker: "Recovers the decreasing hit rate of bow attacks", whatever that means. Â Bow Mastery 1, 1sp, maxes at level 1
>Sleep Shot: damage and chance of bettime. Â Bow Mastery 3, 1sp
Sneakcraft - 1sp up to level 7, increases speed
>Sand Kick: Blinds the enemy. Â Sneakcraft 3, 1sp
Out Hunting: well we covered this above. Â 1sp
And... yeah, that's all you can get right now. Â Everything else requires more SP/Higher Mastery skills
If anyone else needs help, I'll post their skills on an as-requested basis... tomarrow.

Thanks.
Ok as many points in Bow Mastery as possible and sleep shot. If anything left go Seeker.

Re: Screw dragons, a 7th Dragon run
You have Four points. Getting sleep shot, and the bow mastery to unlock it, will take all four of those points.
EDIT: Correction, you have three points. Â You are still at only level 1, for the moment.
Edit 2: OH, apparently the guide goes a bit further than I was reading and gives tips for each of the separate skills...
"Seeker
Recovers from the ever-decreasing hit rate of bow attacks.
This skill only has a single level at 1 SP, but it's a must have. Bow attacks will decrease in accuracy as battles go on. It's cheap enough to not hurt anything."

Re: Screw dragons, a 7th Dragon run
- Questing update:
Welcome back. Last time we finished a quest in Miross. Here we're back in Kazan for a reason. First one being that cael...
Has requested a class change! Say goodbye to Lynn the Fighter...
And say hello to Lynn the Samurai! With that, I can now set up an image of Samurai skills!- Samurai:
Anyway, let's go tell that guy we did his quest.
Elderly Courier: He got it just fine? Ah, good to hear. My legs are my meal ticket. I'll teach you guys the trick to traveling fast.
>You got the Running ShoesYou learned the "Sprinting" party skill!
Elderly Courier: With this skill, you can press the B button to dash around! Doesn't that make you want to join my guild? Hahaha, just kidding! Anyway, my hip should be fine in no time. Then I'll be back to work. Go get your reward from the Quest Office any time!
Yay.
Let's go get that reward now, so we can buy a bow for Nick.
Moneyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy
...And no experience.
Yeah this game doesn't give experience for clearing quests, but that's no big deal.
We still have two other quests to do though, so let's do those. We have 1 out of 3 nuts, so out we goooo
Let's see, for the Guild quest, one of the places we have to go to is...
Here.
oh shit we have no map what will we doooooooooooo
Chest with a Paro Fruit here. (Healing item. The basic potion of this game)
That is a big turtle.
Here's a dude.
Rookie Harris: Unless you need help, don't distract me.
>Mention Rita's Guild
Rookie Harris: What are you up to? ...A guild needs members?
>Screen goes black for a moment, presumably to have us explain the situation.
Rookie Harris: I've tried life as a lone wolf, but it's tough going. But, you probably just want me to leave so you can steal this quest. Don't misunderstand me. I'd do the exact same thing to you guys. Anyway, sure, I'll go hear what this woman has to say. Adios!
And then he left.
We leave as well.
Next is...
Down here.
Weird place.
Novice Emily: I meant to be heading to Kazan...
>Invite her to Rita's guild
Novice Emily: Eeeeeeeek?! Are, are you travelers? Y-you startled me... Yeah? You're inviting me to a guild?
>Same screen blackout as with Harris.
Novice Emily: I tried to go on a journey, but I'm kinda a scatterbrain... All in all it's been a mess. I was starting to wonder if this was it for me... If they'll accept me, I'll gladly join up! ...Anyways, I'm off to Kazan now. Pardon me!
And then she left as well.
Now to find the nuts.
We have the nuts. Let's head back.
Sisterly Girl: I'm looking for the Nuts dropped by the Nutshells outside of town. I'll need about three nuts to make a charm. Thanks for helping! ...Hey, are those Nuts? They are! Those're the nuts I need! Thank you! I've been waiting... I'll make it right now.
>Screen goes black
Sisterly Girl: This should keep him safe on his way. You see? I made an amulet. Hee hee. Thank you sooo much for helping! To say thanks, I made you an extra. Please take it!
Doing quests sometimes nets you bonuses outside of the quest reward. Which is nice.
Sisterly Girl: Safe travels, everyone!
Woo.
Also because I never remember to do this, here's the victory theme and the shop theme.
Now let's go see Rita.
Oh look.
She has friends now.
Novice Rita: These two people say that you sent them! Ace work! Thank you! Now I have to find a third person! Hahaha! So, I'm gonna journey with them. I'll show you guys by going on a biiig adventure and becoming a great Hunter! Then, you guys can join my guild, right? Haha, just kidding! Ohhh, yeah, there was something else too! I just learned a majorly important skill! Let me show you too!
>You learned the Mapping party skill!
This skill makes chests and stairs automatically show up on the map. Woooo.
Novice Rita: Strike while the iron's hot! We're leaving real soon. You can pick up the reward from the Quest Office whenever you want. I hope you guys have a wonderful journey! See you around!
And then they left, with Emily almost going the wrong way.
Woooo
Now let's go collect the rewards.
Paro Medicine is basically a hi-potion.
And then there's this.
Well, with nothing else to do, let's hear if Menas has something different to day.
: ...
Well that didn't help. Let's leave then.
Those two are new here.
Aged Hunter: Her, didya hear? Something crazy is out there lately.
Composed Man: Yeah, I heard. A very strong monster is in the Nameless Cave.
Aged Hunter: A little place like that? Wouldn't a lot of hunters get a nasty surprise?
Composed Man: Yes, it's a serious situation. The President's office is already taking steps. They're looking for Hunters to resolve the situation.
Aged Hunter: Are you taking a crack? Good way to build a rep.
Composed Man: Do I look like an idiot? Way too dangerous. Besides, a big guild will take care of it. No room for little guys.
We have a MISSION! Missions are required to do to progress in the game.
Anyway, let's go sa-
YOU AGAIN!?
Six Swords Inn (Lady behind the counter): Oh, what's this? Welcome!
: How's business?
Six Swords Inn: Thanks to all the Hunters and merchants that've come here, pretty good!
: Is that so? Probably has something to do with good food and cozy beds, too. And a little hard work.
Six Swords Inn: Oh, thank you.
: I hope you stay around for years to come.
Hey there.
: It's important for folks to have a place to rest after battle.
And then he left.
Who the hell is that guy anyway.
Ah well. Next update, we're taking our first mission! Assign your skill points, people!

Just remember, you need "Terrorize" in order for them to actually do anything.

And please don't ask me to post my samurai skills... they are all in japanese nonsense and I have NO idea how to try and translate them (EG, The skill "Lionheart" is listed on the guide as "Shishi Funjin no Seme")

For the record people, I'd like it if you input which points go where.
Otherwise I'll just put in the absolute minimum and stop there.

Sofar, besides me (I pmed Grash on Skype) think the only ones who mentioned skills are:
>Leo (rush Dominance, get Terrorize so the "For Me" skills work)
>Nick (Bow mastery, get Sleep Shot... and maybe Seeker)
>and Spp on Skype (Shock mastery and Shock, bring the thunder)
Scept and Alpar still need input their desired skills.
I don't want to have compiled all those skill-lists just for my own amusement.

Re: Screw dragons, a 7th Dragon run
- We kill a bear:
Welcome back! Today, we're taking our first mission!
Now let's go to the Quest O-
WHY THE FUCK ARE YOU EVERYWHERE
: A productive exercise.
: Can't you be a bit more charitable?
: Charitable?
: I guess not. Anyway, what's next?
: Supply collection and transport, monster extermination... the usual.
: Wait, extermination?
: Just fledgling beasts. Even a rookie guild could take them out.
: So that's all?
: No, the other mission remains a worry. I haven't heard any good news about the expeditions.
: I don't know of many guilds capable of handling all these new monsters.
(This admittedly made me think of those face drag images)
: That's because I am. You always can tell what I'm thinking.
: ...
: Put out the word that this is a priority.
Why is this guy everywhere in town anyway.
... Let's just grab the mission.
And Menas doesn't notice us.
Well, let's grab the mission and be on our way!
Clerk Effie: For further details, see Mr. Menas.
: ...Very well. We need everyone we can find. North of the east bridge, a monster's moved in to the Nameless Cave. This is the map.
>You received a map to the Nameless Cave!
: We need this resolved immediately, but please, don't be reckless.
Well, let's head out then.
The Nameless Cave is here... is it actually nameless when it's named the Nameless Cave?
It's a short dungeon, and you can see where the boss... well, mini-boss, is on the map.
Our goal though is to get to the room before the mini-boss first. There's something good there that will help us.
...And then we got there without a single enemy encounter.
That there is a healing spring. It will heal HP and Mana, but it will NOT recover EX gauge usage. Seeing as everyone in the party except me is a little behind on levels, I'm gonna grind here a little.
Also this image is amusing to me for some reason.
Paro Fruit here.
Fun thing, in battle it's called a "Paro Nut". Why this typo is there, I can only ask the translators.
Hup, triggered this.
Hunter Kid: You idiots better have some serious beginner's luck! That's no foe for rookies! I can't believe I came all this way. What a waste. Fine! I'm outta here!
And then he ran.
I may have overleveled.
I don't care.
That doesn't look threatening at all.
No sir.
This isn't gonna be a pr- OH FUCK, IT'S A BEAR
Now, I would do the same boss thing as in EO3, but honestly, this fight isn't hard. You guys will have your fun soon.
14 turns later, he's down.
Yaaaaay.
As we are about to head back though, we find that Menas is here. Wonder why.
WELL LOOKS LIKE WE GOT OUR ANSWER
: They can't possibly handle this mission!
And there they are.
: Oh, it's you, from before. By any chance, did you dispose of that monster?
He runs down to check, before stating the obvious to the weird dude.
: Very nice work! That was an impressive feat for beginning Hunters! If you stop by the Mission Office and make a report, they'll give you a reward. You can go back home now and leave the rest to us.
We take our leave.
: Haha! The lot of them are happy as clams with themselves.
Let's see how this guy will react when we tell him we beat the bear.
>Us
>Serious
We claim our reward.
Yes, that would be us.
A'ight then.
Who're these people.
: Miross Council? Can't say I've heard much.
Red hair dude: Oh, I see. Well, if you do cross paths with him, please introduce me.
: Yes, of course.
I'll have you know, we just killed a bear.
: Oh, that's GUNDAM! Some promising rookies! Let me introduce you, eh? This is Kingsblade, whom I'd call Kazan's top guild.
Nestor, Kingsblade (Red hair): I'm Nestor, guild leader. I used to hunt with Doris. Watch and learn, kids!
(Who's Doris?)
Yuuri, Kingsblade (Purple hair): Nice to meet you. I'm Yuuri, Kingsblade magician.
Genbu, Kingsblade (Silver hair): I'm Genbu. A swordsman.
: Kingsblade is the hottest guild recently. Quite a run for just three people!
Nestor: And we've got no plans to stop anytime soon! Hey, by the way, lemme show you something you oughta know.
We can now gather stuff.
Except we can't yet.
Nestor: Study your skills and try to find collection points on your travels. It'll be worth it. I'll find you in the bar sometime... seeya, rookies!
Yuuri: Ah, excuse us.
And then they take their leave (how many times have I said this over the run now?)
HOW DOES KILLING A BEAR EQUAL MEETING WITH THE PRESIDENT
: I heard you guys handled the monster quite well? Just as I hoped. I suggest you take it easy until the morning.
And then the screen goes black, implying the day is passing.
: I'd heard and believed the former, but this is all happening so fast.
And now we're at the Inn.
I assume up here is where we're supposed to go.
Rude.
What are you doing here, Menas?
Well, he leads us up an-
THIS GUY IS THE PRESIDENT!?
: Even with my eyes closed, I bet I can tell what your faces look like.
>He turns around and looks at us.
: Haha! As I thought! Shining with glory. I've got a good eye for these things.
We finally get his name, Doris. Which means Nestor has been hunting with the fucking president of Kazan.
: I am the President, but I don't care much for titles. After all, I'm just an old Hunter myself. From today onward, I'll work with you to help save this world!
(Wait, save the world? That seems a bit too much right now, we just killed a bear.)
: Hahaha. Don't look so surprised! You're interesting people.
: When you say it like that, "save the world" sounds rather quixotic.
: Poor Menas. He has no sense of poetry. Did you know that the world is seeing more and more calamities?
Not really.
: I see. Rest assured that it is so.
(What's so assuring about that!?)
: Of course, this isn't the only problem. Pleroma academics see some distressing phenomena. And just now, Miross has sent an urgent missive. They're being invaded by unknown lifeforms from a nearby forest. Even their knights are having a difficult time. And that isn't all.
: I have a hunch that this is just the beginning.
: This is a mission straight from the President! Proceed to Miross and investigate the outbreak! And if it poses a threat to this world... you must destroy it without fail! First, head to Miross. Speak with the council.
: I expect to hear from you, GUNDAM.
With a mission obtained, we take our leave.
: So why choose them? There are certainly more qualified guilds around.
: Inituition.
: Really? That's all?
: That's how I chose you. Don't worry about it. They'll deliver. I'm sure of it.
: I'll wait for some evidence before I believe that.
So yeah, something is up in Miross and the president told us to go fix it. We'll do that next time though!
Nick and Cael have 9 skill points to spend. It seems you get two skill points for every fifth level.

Re: Screw dragons, a 7th Dragon run
- Bad shit happens:
WELCOME BACK! Last time the fucking president assigned us a mission. And today, we're gonna do that! First though, to Miross!
You can see on the map that there's... something to the north.
Here we are, Miross.
Our goal is that big building there.
Is pompous the right word for this? Grand? ...Old fashioned?
Well this guy looks trustworthy.
: I am the chair of the Miross Council, and Grif...
(We'll look as smug as we want to, buddy)
: I hear only a few of you are up to snuff.
: Now, now. Every cloud has a silver lining. Let us join forces. We'll be grateful to have the hand-picked squad of the Tiger of Kazan.
: Hmph. They aren't knights, you know. They're mercenaries.
: In this world, money can purchase many things. Knights and mercenaries both protect the Queen.
>Slight moment of pause
: ...Let me explain things. In Rorakka Forest, northwest of Miross, monsters spawn. Because of the threat they pose, we have sent knights. But with little success.
: According to Pleroma, some signs of Dragon physiology are present. That explains how our knights were defeated. Additionally, peculiar flower growth has been observed in the area. Apparently, they can affect the nervous system. Wildlife has gone rabid, and humans are weakened and even pass out...
: Volg! Don't drone on and on to our guests! They're skilled Hunters, they know what to do. Cut to the chase and tell them what we need beaten!
: Fine, fine. Talk to Nowari if you need further details. The main thing is that we need these Dragons or whatever defeated.
: Northwest in Rorakka, our scouts are at the gate. Meet them first.
>You received a map to Rorakka Forest!
: Lend us your strength. We would be very grateful.
We have barely begun the game and it's already throwing the big stuff at us? I mean, DRAGONS? Good god.
Well, let's head northwest.
...Whoa.
This... looks really bad.
Um...
The situation here is clearly really bad...
Let's talk to the guy there.
: I am a scholar from Pleroma, Nowari. Have you noticed how this forest looks? The flowers blanketing it - the Bloom is what I call it. This plant is entirely alien to our planet. It's a new branch of life. These unknown lifeforms, the Dragons and the Bloom... We of Pleroma need you to investigate these dangerous encroachments.
: They're on the special joint mission for Hunters from Miross and Kazan.
Miross Knight: Yes sir!
: The others should have reported back by now, but I've heard nothing. Use extreme caution.
So these weird flowers, the Bloom, is fucking everything up. And apparently a dragon is here as well. Hoooo boy.
The battle screen looks different as well, being overflowed by Bloom.
Also this is the stupidest name I mean what the hell
Holy shit...
Walking through Bloom greatly weakens us. That damage you see there? Not from monsters. That's from the Bloom. The Bloom is causing more overall damage to us than the actual fights.
Would be nice to have. IF WE HAD A HEALER.
Mana healing item. Heals 15 Mana.
Healing spring! Great!
We find two people in here, suffering from the Bloom's effect.
...
And this is where I'll stop the update. Next update will be a boss update.
For this game though, regarding bosses, it's first come, first serve. I'm the only mainstay in the party. Those who wish to join in the fight say so. Preferably in the thread. First three will be the ones to fight this boss.
Other than that, bosses will be handled like in EO3. You guys input your commands.
And assign your skillpoints dammit.
