CHALLENGERS
- Potential future rules:
- When making an E3 team and giving a same-type move to a non-type Pokemon, Hidden Power doesn't count.
- Upon resignation or defeat, a Champion's team is retired. They are no longer allowed to use that team, or any Pokemon on it unless they change some of that Pokemon's setup (EVs, moveset, item, etc.) and nickname (if applicable).
- When making an E3 team and giving a same-type move to a non-type Pokemon, Hidden Power doesn't count.
RULES FOR EVERYONE
- Specific Banlist:
- Underlined ones are ones that differ from normal Uber banlists.
In addition to things listed here, you're not allowed to have anything that hasn't been released yet in X and Y (for example the Gem items, Diancie, Soul Dew, Adaptability Dragalge, etc.).

Items:- Brightpowder

- Arceus (all forms)
- Clauses:
- With the exception of the Selfdestruct Clause, breaking one of these clauses results in the match being restarted. Breaking another one afterward results in forfeiture.
- Evasion Clause Lite: Double Team and Minimize cannot be used, and no Pokemon may have the Sand Veil ability.
- OHKO Clause: One-Hit KO moves cannot be used.
- Selfdestruct Clause: If the game ends in a draw due to a move killing both remaining Pokemon (whether through perish, recoil, actual Selfdestruct or Explosion, etc.), whoever used the move loses.
- Sleep Clause: You can only put one of your opponent's Pokemon to sleep at a time. Whatever they do to themselves doesn't count (Rest, trying to Hypnosis something with Magic Bounce, etc.).
- Swagster Clause: The move Swagger cannot be used by a Pokemon that has Prankster.
- Evasion Clause Lite: Double Team and Minimize cannot be used, and no Pokemon may have the Sand Veil ability.
RULES FOR ELITE (insert number here)
- Elite Rules:
- Your team cannot be based around the same type that another current Gym Leader or Elite (number) member is using.
- At least five of your six Pokemon must share the same type; if the sixth does not, it must know a move of the team's type. The exception is Mega Pokemon, which MUST share your team's type (more on that after the next bullet).
- Mega evolutions that change a Pokemon's type must share your team's type both before AND after mega evolving (for example, a Dark-type team cannot use a Gyarados since it is Water/Flying, even if they intend to mega evolve it into the Water/Dark Mega Gyarados, but a Water-type team could use either since both forms share that type. And while a Rock-type team could use Aggron, they would not be allowed to mega evolve it since it loses its Rock type, though a Steel-type team could use either).
- Similarly, with Pokemon that can change forms, the current form must never break the type rule. For example, a Normal-type or Psychic-type team can use Meloetta, but a Psychic-type team cannot switch it to its Pirouette Form because it loses its Psychic typing. And a Fighting-type team cannot use Meloetta in the first place since it starts as Normal/Psychic. The exception here is if you intend to use it as your non-matching Pokemon, but it still must know a move of your team's type.
- Pokemon of the same species and direct evolutionary line cannot be used, but Pokemon from branching evolutionary lines can (for example, you can use a Poliwrath and a Politoed, but not a Poliwrath and a Poliwhirl).
- Your team can hold no more than two of any specific item.
- Your team cannot be based around the same type that another current Gym Leader or Elite (number) member is using.
RULES FOR GYM LEADERS
- Leader Rules:
- Your team cannot be based around the same type that another current Gym Leader or Elite (number) member is using.
- All six of your Pokemon must share the same type.
- Same mega evolution and form change rules as Elite (number) members.
- Pokemon of the same species cannot be used more than once, but Pokemon from direct and branching evolutionary lines can (for example, you can't use two Vileplumes, but you can use a Gloom, a Vileplume, and a Bellossom... for whatever weird reason you would want to).
- Your team can hold no more than one of any specific item.
- You'll need a badge to hand out to people who defeat you. Think up a name that fits you or your team.
- Your team cannot be based around the same type that another current Gym Leader or Elite (number) member is using.
RULES FOR CHALLENGERS
- Challenger Rules:
- Five Pokemon in your team must remain the same at all times (this includes moves, EVs, everything). The sixth is free to change between battles, with the exception of between the Elite (number). If you wish to change more, you must start from the beginning.
- Same species rules as Gym Leaders.
- Five Pokemon in your team must remain the same at all times (this includes moves, EVs, everything). The sixth is free to change between battles, with the exception of between the Elite (number). If you wish to change more, you must start from the beginning.
RULES FOR CHAMPION
- Champion Rules:
- You must retain the five Pokemon that you used as a challenger; however, you are free to change your free slot one last time. In addition, you may choose from the following normally-banned Pokemon:
- Black Kyurem
- Blaziken (non-Mega)
- Shaymin (Sky form)
- Xerneas
- Yveltal
- You must retain the five Pokemon that you used as a challenger; however, you are free to change your free slot one last time. In addition, you may choose from the following normally-banned Pokemon:
THE ROAD TO VICTORY (Challenger How-To)
- How to challenge the Halolz League:
- So you want to be champ? There's a process for that.
First, you need a team. Start with five Pokemon and send me a list of them; you'll be using all five of those for the entirety of your career. The sixth is a free slot, yours to change around as you see fit between battles.
Next, you need to get all the badges. Obviously, you get a badge by beating a Gym Leader. Badges can be obtained in any order, and are never lost (except when you want to change your team as outlined in the rules, or if the corresponding Gym Leader resigns/is replaced; more on that later). Upon challenging a Gym Leader, they have 48 hours from when they receive the challenge to respond. If they do not, you win by default. You cannot challenge the same Gym Leader twice in a row unless they hold the last badge you need, and in that case, they are free to ignore any challenges you make for 12 hours after each battle.
Once you get all the badges, you can challenge the Elite (number). Unlike Gym Leaders, you're not allowed to switch up your free slot between fights, and no credit for incomplete work; if you lose to any of them, you have to fight them all over again.
Beaten the Elite (number)? Now you have a decision.
You can choose to challenge the Champion in a battle to finally decide who is the very best, like no one ever was. You CAN switch out your free slot between the Elite (number) and the Champion, so go nuts. Remember that if you beat the Champion, you're not allowed to switch your team for as long as you hold that title.
And since we're not starting with a Champion, first person to win gets the title, no questions asked.
Alternatively, if you'd like a more altruistic role, you can also challenge any one Gym Leader or Elite (number) member to a second battle in order to take their place. You'll be using a temporary team to do this, one which matches the rules of the position you're gunning for. If you win, that's the team you'll be using in that position, so choose well. If you knock someone out of their place, they begin again as a challenger. Probably with a grudge against you. If you take the place of a Gym Leader, their badge is now defunct, and people will need yours before they can challenge the Elite (number).
If you lose, tough luck. You've still got your badges, but you'll need to muscle your way through the Elite (number) again for another shot.
SO YOU WANT TO STAND IN THE SAME SPOT FOR A WHILE (League How-To)
- Being a part of the Halolz League:
- There's little else to say that wasn't stated in the rules here, but let's wing it.
Once you're in the league, you're there until you either resign or are replaced by a challenger. If you want to resign, you need to find somebody to take your place. They don't have to use the same type as you, but they need a team that fits your position's rules. Also Elite (number) members can only be replaced by Gym Leaders, while Gym Leaders can be replaced by challengers.
When we first sign up, any people who want to use the same type will have to fight for the right. After that, if you want to use another person's type, tough luck. Wait for the other person to resign or climb the ranks and try to replace them.
INFIGHTING & TOKENS
- Getting Tokens:
- Bored of your team? Not getting enough action just by sitting around? There's an app for that.
Gym Leaders and E3 are eligible to challenge each other (by which I mean, a Gym Leader can challenge an E3 and an E3 can challenge a Gym Leader; Gym Leaders are considered to be teammates and cannot challenge each other, same with E3). This is one of the ways you can earn currency called tokens, which can be exchanged for many things (more on that later).
Unlike when a challenger challenges a Gym Leader, there is no penalty to declining these challenges and no cooldown period between potential challenges.
Depending on how well you do in your fight, you earn a certain number of tokens, as specified below.
Base tokens
Gym Leader defeats E3: 3 tokens
E3 defeats Gym Leader: 2 tokens
Gym Leader defends against Challenger: 2 Tokens
E3 defends against challenger: 3 tokens
Bonus tokens
+1 for each remaining Pokemon on your team at the end of the battle, past the one that dealt the finishing hit
+3 if your team's shared type has a type disadvantage against your opponent's type
+3 for sweeping with a Pokemon (KOing all six of your opponent's Pokemon with the same Pokemon)
+3 for a perfect sweep (sweeping with only the Pokemon you led with and not switching at any time; stacks with the 3 tokens for sweeping)
An extra 50% the total tokens you won if you issued the challenge (rounded down)
You can only earn 10 tokens each day, unless you would earn more than 10 in your first match that day, in which case you will win the full value for that fight.
- Spending Tokens:
- Tokens can be spent at any time, with the exception of by E3 when a challenger is going through the E3 gauntlet and has not fought them yet.
Remember to keep your position's rules in mind when changing your team around.
3 tokens: Change a move on one Pokemon.
4 tokens: Change EV spread on one Pokemon.
4 tokens: Change one Pokemon's nature.
5 tokens: Gold ticket. Can be redeemed at the start of a challenge, earns you 2x tokens if you win.
7 tokens: Change an ability on one Pokemon.
10 tokens: Change one Pokemon's held item.
15 tokens: Recreate one Pokemon (can change everything except its species).
15 tokens: Silver ticket. Can be exchanged at any time by a Gym Leader to challenge an E3 for their spot.
20 tokens: Change a Pokemon entirely.
25 tokens: Rainbow ticket. Can be exchanged at any time by an E3 to challenge the Champion for their spot.
80 tokens: Change every Pokemon in your team (your team's type does not change).
100 tokens: Change your team's type and recreate your team accordingly.

Showdown is what we'll use. Apparently all you have to do is go into the chat lobby and right-click someone's name to challenge them.
Also updated the signups list. Marcus will probably get dumbed down to Gym Leader since he was the third Elite Two.

Due to interest we'll bump the number up to 3/6.
I need a little more commitment. There's one Gym Leader slot left.

I still have no idea if this is an X/Y thing. I'm assuming it is, but the only mention of X/Y actually implies otherwise.

Can I fight aboi for his spot in the elite3? I was gunna go for fire gym leader, and even made a team, but Cloak took spot number 6 so I might as well go big or go challenger. :I
Edit: I genuinely didn't even notice zyq was going to do a fire gym, or that he even made a post in this thread for that matter.
