Name it OTP, because that's the only ship I sail.
Re: Halolz explores Armoroad's Labyrinth, an EO3 run
I also nominate Urwaifu or, alternatively, Urmom.
Also, do what you want with lady pirate's skills, but focus on guns, maybe?

- Session 4:
Not the best name in my opinion, but it had the most votes, so eh.
: You're not the first guild we've given a ship to, but most seem to care about the fishing money. You're different, though! We'll be counting on you to restore Armoroad's name as the Ocean City!
And with that, we can finally set sail! Keep in mind though, a-
: ...Ah yes, you also need to load food on your ship. Your provisions determine how far you can range. This isn't very tasty, but it'll keep you going. Use it to learn the ropes of charting the sea.
>Obtained Biscuits.
: Also, it's a little threadbare, but you should take this flag as well. It's a good-luck token, commonly hoisted by fishermen praying for a big catch. Your objective is to fill in the sea map, but voyages get pretty costly. So, I propose a deal. When you notice fish during your voyage, catch and bring them back. That'll bring in a bit of income. Just make sure you keep your eyes on the real prize.
>Obtained Fishing Flag.
Thank you, Captain. Like he said, sea trips can get costly, but right now, it's very cheap. This will change in the future as we get better stuff. For now though, let's head out with what we have.
Only one place we can depart from, so let's depart from there!
"You set out onto the vast ocean on the small ship you received. Your duty: to chart the boundless ocean, recording its shores and shoals on your map. You decide to start with the area around Armoroad to get used to navigating the seas."
Your objective at sea is to explore the seas, filling the map on the bottom screen.
And now we have control. See that "Turn" up in the corner? That's how many "steps" we're allowed to take. Things will happen out in the ocean that will either shorten it or extend it, but that's random chance. For now, let's sail over to that island in front of us.
"Through your spyglass, you can see marines from Armoroa gathered around, seemingly hard at work. You can disembark here and talk to them or continue on your way."
>Disembark
"You disembark, but the marines are too busy with their own tasks to notice you. You decide against pestering them and return to your ship."
...So much for that.
There's an another island right here though. Let's check it out!
"You mark the island on your map and attempt to set sail when the trees suddenly sway. Something may be nearby... You wonder if you should stop to investigate or continue sailing."
>Disembark
"You disembark and come across a flock of Armoroad sheep with brown wool and spiral horns. From the rear of the flock, you hear the unexpected voice of a man. This here's an island of wild Armoroad sheep. You came by boat, din'tcha? An old man emerges from behind the flock. It seems he lives on this island as a shepard. He explains that the sheep's pen has deteriorated and he needs good cedar wood to fix it. The old man asks if you can bring back some Armoroad Cedar, found west of the ocean city. You make a note of his request in your logbook, though you can't be sure when you'll get to it."
And that's all we can do with our limited movement. If we try to move further with 0 turns left...
This happens. Nothing else to do but to return.
The sea stuff is a lot of business, see. So I'm considering if I should just include things I deem important in this. What do you guys think?
- Oh also, Gamage:
I've put two points in healing and a point in refresh, but I'll also put a point in fist mastery. This will let you use your bare hands. The monk is the only class in the game that can fight weaponless effectively. You have two more points left. And keep in mind, the more points you put into healing, the more expensive it will get, like the skill calculator tells you.
Look at that beautiful sight.

Oh I'm happy for you to do my skills Grash. Also great stuff so far. I'm easy either way how you want to present the ship. I worry it could get too time consuming or troublesome for you if you try and include everything.

Re: Halolz explores Armoroad's Labyrinth, an EO3 run
Well with two people saying it's fine for me to omit what I feel is needed, this will make sea voyages much faster. SO LET'S START PART 2 OF THE VOYAGE.
- Session 4 Part 2:
Hm. That lighthouse looks important. Let's see if we can't reach it.
"The giant lighthouse to the west of Armoroad towers over the surrounding seas. The lighthouse has stood there for ages, its majestic bearing always visible. You may visit the lighthouse or simply go on your way."
That sounds like a great idea, let's do t-
Its identity turns out to be a monstrous bird that has claimed this territory as its own! The monstrous bird flies past you, causing a strong gale, before turning its talons on you!
...Psyche. We find ourselves back at the port.
: So your ship was attacked by the monstrous bird of the lighthouse? Have you heard of the Skandalia Lighthouse? Before the Calamity, it was a beacon of commerce. But ever since, its light has been extinguished by a bird monster nesting there that attacks ships. So not only are sailors forced to go without its light, we can't even get close enough to repair it. But maybe it has a blind spot, so to speak. Would you guys be capable of finding a safe route there? The marines on a small island to the north have a stock of dried peas they could share with you. With those, you could sail further. If you can get to the beacon, we can dispatch combat engineers. This is a crucial part of restoring Armoroad. I wish you the greatest success.
So yeah. We have a bird to fry. Thankfully, thanks to the bird rekking us, we can now go further! So let's go to that marine island!
: Oi, what brings you to this tiny island? I make Dried Peas here, as chow for the marines.
"You explain that you need Dried Peas to reach the Lighthouse."
: ...Really, now. Well, if that's the case, I'm more than willing to share some with you. They're long-lasting in the hold AND the stomach... Marines and Labyrinth guards both love 'em. They ought to come in handy if you're out to explore the sea lanes.
"You thank the seaman for his Dried Peas and return to your ship."
>Obtained Dried Peas
Now, while this is handy and all...
It's more expensive.
Expect prices to scale as we get better stuff. Anyways, with the Dried Peas...
We head here!
"With the ocean wind in your sails, you discover a coniferous tree growing along the southern coast. Looking closely, you see they are Armoroad Cedars, well-known to yield good-quality lumber. If you like, you may cut one down."
>Cut one down
"Each of you takes a saw in your hands and sets to work felling a tree. After it comes down with a crash, you load it onto your ship and return to your voyage."
>Obtained Armoroad Cedar
With the Cedar in hand, we head back to the shepard and hand him the Cedar. He gives us Sheep Cheese. Hella expensive (70 ental), but it'll take us FAR (16 spaces!).
This will let us reach the Lighthouse... but I want something cheaper. So we head eastward!
Going straight east takes us to this island.
"Sailing with the southern winds at your back, you reach a small island. The island is small enough for a child to walk across in a day and would be easy to investigate. If you like, you may land here and explore."
>Explore
"As you disembark, the vivid tropical flowers put you in mind of some island paradise. You can investigate this area near the flowers or go further into the island."
>Investigate
"Having decided to investigate the area, you start strolling about... As you enjoy the sweet smell of the flowers, you feel an itchy sensation at your feet. The itch soon turns into an unbearable stinging pain! You hastily remove your boots... Poisonous ants known as Bull Ants are swarming all over your feet! The intense pain causes you to flee, but not before gathering some Bull Ants to take back.
>Obtained Bull Ant
After that unpleasant experience, we head one "step" south and go further east to this island.
"A middle-aged woman spots your ship and flags you down. The lady, who comes from Armoroad, asks you to try her new batch of raisins, which are freshly dried. You pop one into your mouth and are met with a sublime mix of sweetness and tanginess. You tell her that the raisins are delicious; she seems pleased and gives you a large bag of them. The raisins would be perfect for maintaining your sugar intake on long voyages. You thank the woman profusely and take the raisins back to the ship."
>Obtained Raisins.
These Raisins are perfect. They have the same travel distance as Sheep Cheese, but for 40 ental instead of 70!
Going straight south from that island we come across this.
"Carefully plying the reef-strewn waters east of Batavia, you spot the remains of a shipwreck. As you look more closely, you can see several crates, likely cargo from the ship, floating nearby. You can salvage the crates if you wish, or proceed on your own way without doing anything."
>Salvage
"You jump into the ocean and begin bringing the crates back to your ship. After recovering all the crates you find, you pick one and open it. You discover that the box is full of Black Pepper seeds, a high-quality spice as valuable as gold. This brightens your mood considerably, and you have the crates carefully stowed aboard.
>Obtained Black Pepper.
Having gotten what I wanted, we finally head for the Lighthouse.
But not before checking this.
"Your ship nears one of the many islands that surround Armoroad... It's a featureless island, but on close inspection, you see that something has washed ashore. It looks like one of the Dolphin Statues that were once attached to fishing vessels for luck. Thinking that it may prove useful, you decide to salvage it and return to Armoroad.
>Obtained Dolphin Statue
Now, to get to the Lighthouse...
You need to enter this current here. This leads right up behind the Lighthouse, and from there...
"Your ship finally reaches the lighthouse feared by many to be a nest of monsters. After noting its location, which none have dared near for over 100 yearsm you return to Armoroad. The day of Armoroad's return to glory is now one step closer.
>Return to Armoroad
: I heard from the sailors on guard! You've done a great thing here, members of 765 Pro! Paving the way to the lighthouse is the first step to restoring our city, and we have you to thank. Keep at it and we'll see Armoroad restored to its former glory. Or better, even! ...Here's your reward. It's a foremast, great for catching the wind. Try it out on your ship.
By equipping a foremast, the ship's moving distance will always be +1 space.
>Obtained Foremast.
>Obtained 500 ental.
: Also, now that you've secured a route to he lighthouse, we can take out the monster bird there! We've already had quite a few hot-blooded adventurers gathering at the port to try their luck. If you're ready, you should try lending them a hand.
Requests called sea quests can be accepted at the port. These quests can be played by connecting with other players and cooperating with them. If you're attempting the quest along, bring the adventurers who issued the request to the port. Try selecting a sea quest from the menu and see what you think.
LADIES AND GENTLEMEN
WE HAVE THE BEST WAY TO GRIND IN THE GAME NOW. Sea Quests are a VERY good way to get ental and experience in, as you're fully restored between each battle and it always saves before you attempts the sea quest, meaning it's a safe way to grind!
Unfortunately we're too weak to attempt this sea quest at the moment. And this update has been going on now, so let's call it a session.
>Discovered a new trade item: Flying Fish, 7-Star Sardine, Armoroad Cedar, Bull Ant, Black Pepper!

Re: Halolz explores Armoroad's Labyrinth, an EO3 run
- Session 5 is a go:
WELCOME BACK
Last time we did plenty of sea stuff and unlocked our first Sea Quest! Unfortunately we're too weak for that sea quest to do anything right now so all we can do is explore the labyrinth.
Also I have assigned gamage's skill points after how he wants them. CLERIC CAN NOW CAST FIST
AND ROFL GET YOUR ACT TOGETHER DECIDE YOUR SKILLS GOD DAMMIT
annoyance aside, the Senatus told us that the shop has something available for us now. Let's head there!
: Ah, I see you've successfully completed the Senatus' orders. I received their notification. You see, there is one item that may only be sold to explorers authorized by the Senatus... It's called an Ariadne Thread. When you're lost or wounded, use it to be teleported back to Armoroad. You should always have one with you when in the Labyrinth from this point on. Stare at it all you want, though: I do not give them out for free. There's no percentage in that.
Yes, the jew shopkeep now sells us Ariadne Threads! And she half lied when she said we should only carry one. We should carry TWO on us. Why two? In case we forget to buy a new one after we use one.
Now to head into the...
Butterfly Bistro!
: Ah, hellos to you! You're the 765 Pro guild, yes? I've heard from the Senatus. Here at the Butterfly Bistro, you can talk to people and take on side jobs called "requests." There are all kinds of different jobs, from monster hunts to item collecting. If you accept a request and complete the mission, report back to me! When you do, I will then give you the reward that the client gives me when they put it up! Doing these requests might make you some easy cash! I'll keep getting more and more requests as time goes on, so come back here lots, okay? That's pretty much it. Do you want to be taking on one of the requests right away?
Yes, the Butterfly Bistro is our hub for side-quests. Doing these rewards us with exp and ental or items. Even limit scrolls!
You can also gather information here, which is either helpful or funny. Scavenger Toma is especially helpful, as he'll tell us how to get Conditional Drops from enemies. Yes, enemies have something called Conditional Drops, in which they must be defeated in a certain way. Spoiling it right now, but to get the first boss' conditional item, you have to SOLO IT. Yeah, it can get pretty crazy. Luckily, there is an alternative to that, but we'll get to that when we get it. Let's talk to these people first.- Tanned Fisherman:
- ...Have you folks been out to sea yet? If you're ever out on the water, try catching some fish. There's all kinds of fish around Armoroad. If you catch any, folks at the port will pay handsomely. The rarer your catch, the more you'll rake in. Give it a try.
- Scavenger Toma:
- Hm? Ain't seen ya before... New explorers, I take it? Alright... Then here's some advice. Did ya know if you beat monsters a certain way, they'll drop different stuff than usual? Some ya gotta kill with fire, or maybe defeat 'em while their arms are bound. That kinda thing. I know all sorts of secret tricks like that to get good treasure. If ya wanna know 'em, just ask. I don't give 'em away for free, but ya buy me a drink or something and I'll gladly spill for ya!
- Helpful older swordsman:
- Yo! Haven't seen you lot around! Are you new around here!? Great! C'mon, sit here next to me! I used to challenge the Labyrinth when I was your age too. You gotta start from B1F! No shortcuts! Speaking of which, have you seen any Great Lynxes? Its sharp claws can rip rookies in half! They're weak against fire, but that doesn't make them any easier. It's good practice for beginners. There's a famous phrase around these parts: Great Lynxes are where rookies become explorers! ...Alright, you got me. I just came up with that a second ago! Bwahahahahahaha!
- Harpist troubadour Wolfram:
- Travelers new to Armoroad, are you? Many such as you have been asking after the Labyrinth lately. I'm Wolfram, a troubadour. I've wended my way from the far north all the way to this ocean city. I've been here a long time... I may have a few words of advice about challenging that place.
- About Armoroad:
- This city where you stand is the world-famous ocean city of Armoroad! A free city of clear skies and white clouds, an endless sea and a vibrant, eclectic culture! ...But freedom can't exist without order. This country does have a royal family. Sadly, the modern royal family has been reduced to mere figureheads... Ah, but who then governs Armoroad? The aristocrats of the Senatus, led by a fearsome old crone! Consider her to be the true power behind Armoroad. You'll most certainly meet her yourselves. There's more to Armoroad's royal family than that, but... Let's leave that for another time, hm?
- About the Calamity:
- This ocean city of Armoroad was once a grand capital where science and technology flourished. But around 100 years ago, the center of Armoroad was suddenly swallowed by the ocean! Afterwards, the rippling waters became tidal waves... The gentle breeze gave way to earthquakes. Armoroad's advanced technology was sunk, which ended diplomatic relations with nearby countries. It's been a long road to recovery for Armoroad, but even today, it's nowhere near what it once was... Not since the calamity. If you ask anyone here, you'll get nothing but a stony silence. Then again, that's just because no one knows exactly what went on 100 years ago! It wasn't all bad, mind you. After the Calamity, a Labyrinth was revealed, drawing explorers here. Though the Senatus had other reasons for gathering explorers... But that tale can wait for now.
- About the Princess:
- Glad you asked! That's the most popular story of the day! I'd appreciate a tip for the telling. Her sobriquet of the Porcelain princess comes from her pure white shining skin... Her voice is like music from the harps of goddesses; radiant enough to tame monsters! But even goddesses wouldn't linger in her presence for having to compete with her face... She is Princess Gutrune, a lovely goddess of Armoroad in her own right! Her visage is the stuff dreams are made of... Though, mind you, I've never seen her in person. Each successive princess in Armoroad is named Gutrune. I'll tell you the reason... later.
With information gathering out of the way, let's take a look at the quests.
The first quests are very easy, two of them related to the first floor and one for out in the sea. As we reach deeper into the labyrinth, more information and quests will be available to us, unlocking the moment we step into a new floor. Let's accept all three. And keep in mind, we can only have 5 quests at a time on us.
>Butterfly Bistro's new menu
: That request, eh? Oh, yes, do try that one. It is most decidedly easy! I am wanting to make a new menu item here at my bar, and I am needing ingredients. What is required is 1 Frog Cheek and 3 Slimy Legs. I am most sure you can gather them by killing Forest Frogs on B1F. I can be counting upon you, yes? Good, good! Now "hop" to it! Ahaha!
>The fisherman's rest
: Oho, you are accepting this request, yes? It is easy, so is perfect for you. The client is Bill, an apprentice fisherman who is known for being a lazy oaf. He says he is wanting a safe place to sunbathe... I bet he is looking for a nap spot. You may be finding such a perfect spot somewhere on B1F, yes? You find a good place for him and let me know, yes? That will be the end of this. You be running along now, adventurers! I can be counting on you!
>Tanniyn hunting
: You're going to accept this request? It was put up there by the city's fishing committee. It is sounding straightforward. Go out on a voyage and catch a tanniyn. Simple, yes? The committee wants the tanniyn to be from local waters, so catch one near Armoroad. That is all you are having to do! The deep blue sea calls you! Do not keep her waiting! Oh, I am being all excitable about this! Get out of here so I can calm down!
And with that, we have everything we need here in the Bistro. But before we leave, you guys have most certainly noticed something all the places have in common. A talk option. The talk option have us talk to the NPC standing right there, and new dialogue becomes available after every floor. I'll be including the Talk dialogue of all characters at the bottom of an update whenever they become available, starting with the next update. I know nothing much has happened in this update, but eh. Next update, we help a lazy oaf, fish a little, and prepare french cuisine.

- : Ah! I forgot to tell you something. You can drop your stuff here if you need to, boss. It's just 100 ental a pop. If you can't hold any more stuff, just leave it with us!
: Do I recall correctly that you are the novices of 765 Pro? I hear you've entered the Labyrinth. Should you obtain any workable materials on your journey, my Firm will happily buy them for you. As you sell me new materials, we will stock new merchandise derived from it. And I am sure you could use the coin we pay in return. Everyone benefits.
: Welcome. Ah! Oh... Um, you're... ...... 765 Pro! I know it! I remember it clearly! I do know my customers here at the Butterfly Bistro! Have a drink, and have fun!
: Ah, it's you guys. How about it? Gotten used to the Labyrinth yet? A warning to you newbies about going forward with investigating the Labyrinth: Bravery isn't the same thing as idiocy. If you feel like you're in danger, come back immediately.
: Ah, if I recall correctly, you're the novice adventurers from 765 Pro, correct? How are you finding the Yggdrasil Labyrinth? Its grandeur and depth is like the greatness of the sea. But remember, you've been tasked with an important mission on these seas. Don't get too preoccupied! I shouldn't worry, though; you're young yet. I'm sure you can take on both the Labyrinth and the seas.
: Ah, hello. Well? Is your journey into the Labyrinth going smoothly? I should tell you that if you find new equipment or creatures there, make sure to report them here. Contributing to a comprehensive list of discoveries is a duty of all registered explorers. In return, the Senatus well provide support to make it easier for you to go on your adventures. Tit for tat, you see. If you want fame and glory, you'll have to work for it!

Re: Halolz explores Armoroad's Labyrinth, an EO3 run
Putting two more points into ascetic reward, that should ensure that if I die the part is almost fully healed judging by the HP we last had (since if I die we're out of heals, so I thought that might be a good idea. Also ascetic deeds looks appealing, I assume it only heals me?). What would you recommend, grash? I feel like grabbing a point in revive first could be good with ascetic reward. Breakfire fist seems like a good goal for fisting. I don't know much about the game so I have no idea how important fire walk and waking chakra would be. I also don't know how important anything relating to TP is since I don't know if there's a recovery rate and you start at 0, or if you start at full and there's no recovery.

- BUT LET'S MAKE THAT MISUNDERSTANDING INTO A FACT:
FFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFF
- Also shop dialogue regarding hammers:
- : Ah, it's you. What's the matter? ...What? You obtained a hammer in the forest to forge weapons? Well then, allow me to explain the process. You may use these hammers to temper weapons. Not for free, of course. Perish the thought. A nominal fee applies which varies by weapon. Secondary materials will also be required, but if I've purchased them already, that will suffice. Let's table any questions for the moment and demonstrate.
When you select Forge from the menu, you can use hammers to add effects to a chosen weapon. If you use this intelligently, it will be a powerful advantage in battle.
- Also sea shenanigans while grinding for ental:
"Beyond that current, you can see a town with a windmill sitting on a hill That must be Batavia, whose commerce is known far and wide! You would like to find a way across the current to reach it, but you're not sure if you can."
: Welcome back, everyone. I daresay you've found your sea legs. You probably noticed, but some of the waters near here are prone to severe currents and raging tides. The Calamity changed the face of the world. We aren't the only city to suffer from its effects. One such city is Batavia. There was a time when trade flourished with them, because they were so close. Which brings me to my request... See if you can chart a safe route to Batavia. If we hope to restore Armoroad's glory, a route to Batavia will be instrumental. I'm counting on you.
"Large stones in the shape of human faces line the coast, staring into space with empty eyes. If you have the provisions for it, you can make your way toward the island..."
: Ah, I'm glad you're back. Your voyages seem to be going well. What...? You found an island with boulders that looked like human heads? You know, I believe I've read about that place. It's said a tribe with superior technology lived there. Apparently, they used it to create stone giants that they used as war machines. From what I hear, the city that sunk during the Calamity had very similar, ancient methods. ...It seems worthy of an investigation. It'd be great if you could establish a route there. If we can send in marines to check it out, we could get some answers. I wish you the best of luck.

Apparently subclassing gives you an extra 5 SP even if you don't use it.

Update... is this 8?
Anyways WELCOME BACK! Last actual update, firefox fucked everything up, so too bad, B2F is getting delayed more. Deal with it. Instead, we're gonna do something you guys are gonna get used to. Something you guys can have more input with.
That being...
Our first sea quest. Now, you may notice that this update is not in a spoiler. I'll cover why later.
When we do Sea Quests, we pick from a list right here. Though there's not much to pick from here, so let's just go to Skandalia Lighthouse and cause a scandal.
Here we pick among 3 NPCs to fight alongside us. The difference is as follows:
1. You can only bring 4 party members.
2. You can only bring 3 party members.
3. You can only bring 2 party members.
Let's go with the first one.
It follows the Bamboo Princess story. Let's just proceed.
Kirikaze is a backliner with Keburi no Sue, meaning he will still cause full damage even when attacking from the back line. You should consider getting this, Cael. (backliners deal half damage with melee weapons, but in return, they take only half damage from melee attacks)
I pick my team and head out.
Sorry Tael!
After that we pick limit skills. I go with Indomitable for survival, and Leo and Gamage has charge tactic for attack boosts. Now it's time to head out.
"Setting sail from the ocean city, you eventually reach Skandalia Lighthouse, where the bird nests. After cautiously proceeding through the ruined lighthouse, you find a gigantic bird monster at the top! Your party and the ninja take weapons in hand as the bird spreads its wings in challenge! The monster lets loose a bloodcurling shriek as you dart toward the threat before you!"
SAY HELLO TO THE FIRST OPTIONAL BOSS IN THE GAME, THE MEREGHO SAENO! And this is where things will get interesting. YOU GUYS WHO ARE IN THE TEAM RIGHT NOW are gonna give input for what commands/skills you want to use. This is a fucking stupid idea, I realize that, but it's one that will spice things up in my opinion. I will control myself of course, Leo controls Leo and so on.
Do note, once a boss has been defeated once, this process will not repeat. I will handle it normally then.
Alright, a quick review of the skills for the ones in the team:
- Gamage:
- Healing - 5 TP
Refresh - 6 TP
Kikouken - 4 TP
- Leo:
- Attack Order - 9 TP
Guard Order - 8 TP
- Soapdish:
- Pop Flares - 8 TP
Smoke Grenade - 8 TP
Also of note:
We are only allowed to have 3 buffs active at once on one character. The top 3 are buffs, the bottom 3 are debuffs.
And thus, Halolz' very first boss fight: Meregho Saeno...
BEGIN
quick edit: and to clarify, I will use save states between turns, not for cheating, but to catch up between when each command has been issued. Because I know not everyone is in the same timezone.

Re: Halolz explores Armoroad's Labyrinth, an EO3 run
Um... are bosses highly resistant to status effects like many RPGs? If not I'd like to use Smoke Grenade to try and blind it.
Otherwise just plain attack.

To answer your question, early bosses are not resistant to status effects. Later bosses will have immunities.
