I don't know why you people aren't watching it. It's really great and easily one of the most unique anime we've had in a long time, despite simplicity.

It's really hit or miss with the episodes IMO. Although, I did enjoy around 3/4 of them so I won't make an overall judgement until the rest of them air in June/July/whenever. Not to mention people watch it expecting Cowboy Bebop, because of it being advertised as Watanabe's, hence why if people drop it it's usually for that reason.

I don't know why the hell people expected Space Dandy to be like Bebop when the PVs, artstyle, and portraits obviously resembled nothing Bebop aside from the space theme.

If you liked Space Dandy you should check out Space Adventure Cobra. The opening is even better and the main characters are pretty similar, though the atmosphere in Cobra is a bit less wacky, for lack of a better way to describe it.

Given that we talked about animation last night, it would be a good time to bring up Royal Space Force: The Wings of Honneamise. It was the first movie made by Gainax in 1987, even before they made Gunbuster the year after. The story is more or less about a group of astronauts trying to make the first manned space flight in spite of obstacles from the country they live in and foreign countries, and the animation is among the best there is. There's one scene that doesn't mesh well with the rest of the movie, but other than that it's a must-see, the final launch scene is spectacular.

I've never seen Urotsukidouji complete actually, despite watching many movies like it back then (like Wicked City). Could never find a copy back in the VHS days.
